Flooding?

Ok Guys

I've only been vaping for a month or so and despite all the helpful information on these forums I'm still a little confused.

I have an innokin vv3 and an innokin MVP2 and a selection of cartos, iClear 16, iClear 30, Mini Protank II and Apire ET-S

What I'm finding is that the bottom coil cartos, while generally giving a better hit, tend to bubble and spit liquid, while the top coil units are a lot more reliable.

I've seen references to 'flooding' in various threads and I'm wondering if this is what I'm experiencing. Fully washing out the bottom coil units seem to fix the problem temporarily but they soon start playing up again. I've even put a new coil in the mini protank since it came with a spare but to no avail.

I have noticed that leaving the bottom coil units standing up on the table rather than on top of my vv3 in my coat pocket tends to lengthen the time before problems start.

anyone have any suggestions?

Gosh, the million pound question. :)

Yes, gurgling and leaking/flooding is common. How long do you wait before changing your atomizer heads. It sounds like you've just changed your mini Protank, and they do get worse with time.

I have 3 mini Protanks. None of them have leaked one drop of liquid. I change them very regularly....
You could rebuild them with premade wick/wire or build the entire thing from scratch...

Keeping them upright and not too shaken does help... a lot i.m.o.

I've not had a leak or gurgle (touch wood) since October 2013.

Not an uncommon problem for any carto / clearo type topper. The bottom coil cartos like to be stored upside down while top coil right side up. Gravity will tend to flood a coil if left to wick your liquid too long, overnight for example...:)

Top tip!! Storing the "old" Kanger T3 upside down overnight was the only solution for that clearo. I had 5 and they emptied themselves once overnight....

Funny really, because the "new" T3S is one of my most reliable.

Many thanks guys

Storing a bottom coil unit upside down seems like a sensible idea, I'll give it a try.

I've only had the protank a couple of weeks and changed the coil a couple of days ago, the new one 'went bad' much quicker than the first, I have a pack of 5 new coils on order and have started watching youtube videos on how to rebuild them :)

The Aspire only arrived yesterday and is starting to show problems already but as it arrived in a baggie rather than a box I'm not sure it's a genuine one.

The iClear 16 has been going for a month now with no problems but spare coils are on order and the iClear 30 is brand new as well.

I do love this forum, help is always available from more experienced people

I've not yet "killed" an iClear16. (ahem, cough, cough... been using these a YEAR!!)

The iClear30 will go soggy if you leave it too long.... (2 days or so) so keep vaping on it......

Funny how all these different bottom coil clearos behave so differently. I used t3's and they always leaked. My protank 1 floods too often too. But my pt2 never seems to flood.

Is that T3S or T3s...? new or old?

Protank 1 is the worst ever i.m.o.

Good news on the PT2 though. :)
