3 of my four nieces got the swine flu. They were horribly sick, for several days each. There have been hundreds of cases in Alaska, where they live.

For god's sake, even if you don't believe the risk of death from H1N1, why WOULDN'T someone want to prevent that suffering? Get the vaccine. The swine flu isn't a myth, isn't exaggerated, isn't just another flu, it's serious and it's already all over the country.

I refuse, will not no way no how get this shot. Forget it. No one is sticking a needle in me on a vaccine that has not been truly tested. People have already gotten very very sick because of it.

Same goes for the flu shot. See everyone forgets that people die from the flu every year also. Less has died in the short time from H1N1 then die very year from the common Flu.
I used to drive school bus. Did for 5 years. Dealt with sick kids every day for those 5 years. Never once got sick. But I watched 200 people get the flu shot. And seen over half of them get very sick with the flu. So sick I think they would of been better off chancing it on not getting it. The company I worked for would have them take the shot a week apart. 25 one week 25 the next. That way us relief drivers were not going nuts trying to cover all the runs from the ones that were sick.

Hand sanitizer works on H1N1. Same with Lysol. So using them is still a good idea for when hand washing isn't available.
I for one would rather just stay away from people. Heck I do anyway. If people would just learn to stay home when they are sick it would not be spreading like it is. But no people are not that smart and don't care what they can and will do to others.

When my kids are sick. I keep them home until they are well. They do not go out and play go to the mall. They don't leave the house until they are better. Same goes for me. No reason for me being responsible for someone else getting sick. Its not worth it.

I had the flu shot ONCE... Don't know why anymore, I hardly ever get sick, but after I got that shot I was sick for 4 weeks! I have never been that sick for that long in my whole life. I will never get one again...

My hubby has Non Hodgkins Lymphoma for 10 years now (The indolent kind that kind of waxes and wanes) Because of that, it was recommended that we all get flu shots every year because you never know if or when he will need chemo again and have an weakened immune system - it makes sense to lessen the odds of one of us coming down with something nasty to pass on to him. So all three of us have gotten them for 10 years now, and none of us have got any of the really bad flu. None of us has ever gotten sick from the shots either.

That being said, my hubbies Onc suggested we hold off on the H1N1 shot especially for him until more people have had it and seen the effects.
