I go a step further by trimming my old tubes so that drip tips fit in right over the cup. Good wicking, flavor, & vapor.

So after I finished reading your post I decided to try cutting the tube and putting on a drip tip. I was thinking that it would be hard to do and I would need a pipe cutter or something to get it even but a lil snip with the scissors did the trick. NICE mod....works great

Thanks for the tip!

Fair enough, I shall have to do some research. I am using a prodigy at 6V, and I got several different things, here is what I ordered:
1 ea. GotVapes VORTEX 2 808 BC Clearomizer - 1.2ml 2.4ohm 5PK $10.95
1 ea. 510 to 808 adapter $3.99
1 ea. Sapphire 2.0 Bud Atomizer 1.5ml Tank System 510 2.2-2.4ohm -2 PK $6.95
1 ea. GotVapes VISION EXTREME GIANT 3.5ml 510 Carto 2.8ohm 1 Piece $7.95
1 ea. GotVapes FLuXomizer™ DeLuXe CLEAR GREEN 510 XL 1.8ml 2.4-2.6ohm $11.95
1 ea. eGo Extender 510 - Outside Threaded for eGo Cone $3.99
1 ea. GotVapes 510 Bridgeless PumpCart System Regular 2.2-2.5 SMOKY $12.99
1 ea. GotVapes Soft Flexible Plastic juice Bottle Fill Nipple - 3 PACK $1.29
1 ea. GotVapes FLuXomizer™ DeLuXe CLEAR GREEN 510 XL 1.8ml 3.0-3.2ohm $11.95
1 ea. Sapphire 2.0 Bud Atomizer 1.5ml Tank System 510 3.0-3.2ohm -2 PK $6.95

All the cartos taste like burnt rubber. Even when I put them on my roomates 3.7V ego. I have tried two of each fluxomizers and one of each of the sapphires. None of them seem to wick properly. Same for the vision extreme. The pump cart system bridge less atomizer burns really hot, like way hotter than the LR atomizers I have popped on my 6V to compare with. I could be using them all wrong but I doubt it, they seem pretty straight forward and I have been vaping with cartomizers for over a year now.

Oh and the vortex, I tried every one of those. They taste so chemically that I don't even try to inhale. I can feel it numbing my tongue when I try and take a drag. Just awful.

buddy i gotta ask one thing.... what ratio juice are you using? these things do not like vg heavy juices. that is the one variable you have not pointed out and the only thing i can think is wrong. anything higher than 30% vg undiluted will in my experience make these not wick well at all(fluxos, vision) i have not tried the vortex's and did not like the sapphires at all. absolutely love my vsions:laugh::vapor:

Thats odd because I like very heavy vg juices and I do not have any wicking problems at all. I just love the visions, sapphires and the fluxo's In fact I love them so much that is all I am using lately. I cannot tell you about the vortex as I have no experience with them but the other products ROCK.

Buddy I think the likely cause of your bad experience is using a 6 V device. I also have a V3/Prodigy but use my Darwin for everything except dual coils. My favorite are the Fluxos. They are easy to clean and last a long time. I remove the seal around the cup and use 2 of the top seals in its place with a standard drip tip. The 3.0 - 3.2 ohm Fluxos are great at 4.5 - 5.0 V or 7.3-7.5 W. IF you want to use your 6V Prodigy either use Mindfield's mod or do what I do and buy the 3.6 - 3.8 Ohm Fluxos.

I do something similar.

I cut the Tube so it is about .125" taller than the Ceramic Cup. Then I take a White CE2 Mouth Piece and cut a Small Cone on the Inside of it. I use it alone without Any other Seals.

Works as well as Anything else I have tried and it Dead Simple to take Off and put On when filling.

Like I said though, I tried them at 3.7V as well, several of them the first time I used them I used them at 3.7 V just to rule out that I wasn't burning them by using them in the 6V. Same result. I don't get how previous carts like boge which were around the same ohm or lower in some cases worked fine but these don't? Also, my usual mix is 30% VG 70% PG, but I did try them with pure PG as well to rule that out as well.

no prob...just trying to get to the bottom of the issue to help ya out. i have the problem with cartos...i hate em, taste like crap. always taste the filling, can't stand it

I am the same way about the fillered cartos too, besides the fact most of them give me bronchial spasms.

Sent from my G2...so please excuse the spelling errors, correct gets the best of me.

I have to admit that I couldn't get Fluxomizers to work right out of the box either, all I got was dry wick taste. However I modded mine and they work like freaking champs after modding. The Visions worked a lot better out of the box, but once again, after modding they were freakish vape machines.

The mods aren't difficult to do either. Have a look at my two mod tutorials for these two devices. I guarantee that they'll work a whole lot better after these mods. Note however that neither of them will handle 6V. You might get 4.5V - 5V on a Fluxomizer, and 5V to 5.5V on a Vision after these mods, tops.

Got my new fluxomizers today and was immediately disappointed in the taste. I got that dry burnt poly type taste that I was hoping I would never taste again. Came onto the forum, watched the videos above, did the cup mod, and was immediately gratified with pure, clean, true flavor vaping.

Thanks Mindfield!

I will try the donut mod later, but for now, I am extremely happy. Got my fingers crossed that I get the lifespan that I keep hearing that these things have.

FYI I am using a GLV super mini PV and the fluxomizers are the XL Deluxe clear smokies @ 2.4-2.6 ohms.
