My mother is very ill and I am going to have to fly back home, maybe within the next couple of days. I do not know how to pack up all of my liquid and gear. I may need to be there for awhile so I want to bring as much with me as I can or I'm afraid I will grab a pack of cigs because of the stress. I have 2 spinners and about 30-40 30ml. bottles of juice. I don't need to take them all but I am concerned about 1) security, and 2) leaking. I figured I would just put my spinners and charger in a tray with my keys and other metal stuff. What about the juices? They're all under 3 oz. I think...horrible at math conversions....should I put them in my carry on? I have no idea. Help please!!

Thank you. I do know about the 3-1-1 from previous flights. I really need to know of others' experiences with transporting the rest of it in checked luggage...leakage, etc. I'll be flying out of Philly if that helps. I don't want to have anything confiscated because the gear looks suspicious. I plan on taking my spinners apart and no filled tanks. Would it be best to put them in checked luggage?

Roonies -- I flew this spring and did the following: I packed all of my mods, tanks, batteries, cartos, etc in my carry on, which is basically a big purse. I didn't want the chance of someone checking my bag and stealing stuff. I carried one bottle of juice with me and the rest went into sealed baggies in my luggage with my makeup and such. I had no problems through checkpoints except in Knoxville, TN. They grabbed my purse, told me to keep my hands off it, and took it back and rescanned it several times and hand checked everything. I very politely told them I was carrying e-cigs and that if they would like me to take anything out or show how it was used that I was more than happy to do so. They declared that "something in there" looked like a razor. Really. That was okay with me to be checked out -- most non-vapers don't see these things everyday and don't know what they are. If questioned, be polite. That goes a lot farther than gettin' all up in their faces like I've seen some people write about.... and good luck on your trip and wishes for improving health to your mother.

For juice leakage wrap a wrap of electrical tape around the bottle and if you want for extra measure put the bottle in a small ziplock. If you put it in checked in luggage it is fine but if you carry it in your carry on which is what I do, make sure and put it in your baggie of liquids. And yes your 3ml is fine for the 3 oz

I do the same thing you are planning on and put my batteries in the tray with other metal stuff.

Saran wrap bottles and put them in a clear case, the ones you can find in office supply stores and hobby lobby.I imagine it will look like nail polish bottles in xray station. The battery and chargers you can pack in bubble wrap so they don't beat each other up in bag. Tanks I would clean them and put them empty and disassembled in center of clothing wrapped in bubble wrap. That is just my .02

Thanks for all of the suggestions! I am flying out of Philly to Kansas City, one stop in Atlanta on Sat. I am going to put several bottles of e-liquid in the quart size baggie. They're labeled so should be fine. I'll disassemble all of the hardware and put it in a tray with keys, etc. The rest of the liquid will get wrapped in individual baggies and put into the large zippered polypro zip cosmetic bag in my luggage. Hope it doesn't leak. I hesitate to wrap each bottle with electrical tap because I think that might look a little sketchy. I'm going to throw a business card from the e-cig company in with the juices. I have to go through the on hands security because of this shoulder replacement so I'll have the opportunity to explain the gear. I'm going to bring the receipts from everything just incase. My mom is in a hospice house as of today....4 years with pancreatic cancer. It's been a long battle for her and all of us. I have no idea how long I will be there but my spouse will drive out if/when she passes and bring my tackle box with the rest of the juices. If ever there was a time to be tempted to smoke again, this would be it. I want to be sure I have all of my gear so I do not smoke! I appreciate all of the feedback....many thanks...or should I say...mini tanks!! :)

Here's a tip for flying with liquids I used back in the 40's and 50's when baggage compartments weren't pressurized at all: Light a candle and drop wax around the bottle between the bottle neck and bottle top. Very effective in preventing leaks, easy to remove at your destination, and though I haven't used this method lately, I doubt very much that wax would appear questionable in an x-ray.

I hope your travel goes smoothly.

For my shampoo and conditioner bottles, I take a piece of glad wrap, double it and lay it over the opening of the bottle. Then screw the top back on over the plastic wrap, letting the wrap turn if it needs to turn.

When I flew last August, I kept one batt/clearo in my pocket, and put the other batts in a side pocket of my carry-on. My liquids and other clearos I put in my ziploc bag of liquid items they require.

TSA gave no grief in Dallas, just reminded me I cannot use it inside the airport. On the return, Denver guy asked what it was, I told him an e-cigarette, and he said ok. No bother at all otherwise.

You should be fine as long as you put your bottles in the ziploc baggie. 3 oz = ~88 ml, so that part is good.

Sorry to hear about your mom. :( Have a safe journey.
