There was a Paps lux in the classies a few weeks back that I would have pulled the trigger on, but I was too late. By the time I saw it, it was paid and gone. I am picky about the Paps, I have seen a few up for sale but I would only get a lux.

The one I bought isn't a lux. I'm not terribly versed on Paps so I'm not sure how this one is labeled. It's just a simple, brushed stainless 18650 version. It was only $80 so I felt like the price was right.

This is true .. I would not have bought the authentic Footoon Aqua V2 if I didn't try the clone first. I have been wanting to try a Polidiac clone for the longest time because I totally admire the authentic, but currently the clones are either far from 1:1, or have had issues with voltage drop and poor button assemblies so I never went for one of the clones. I consider it my responsibility avoid crap at all costs, and while the Polidiac V2 looks mint, I have heard that they all require modding to perform well ... Nope, I am not modding anything.

But ... Guess who ordered an authentic Poldiac MiriamWTH classic from MMV at 5am? Finally, finally I am getting my Poldiac, even though I didn't get to try a good clone first. Would it be totally selfish of me to ask Doris to get a couple of clones so that I can compare them?

I have this thing were I want to do comparisons of the authentic vs clone .. I wanted to do it with the FT OEM Aqua V2 but I don't trust that it would even be the same as what they originally listed. And now that I have the authentic five pawns KFL, I was thinking of getting the clone of that as well but I fear it may be a boring review because well ... its a still essentially a KFL, albeit a new drip tip and top cap.

Nikki,
Glad you are finally getting you a Poldiac. I have been waiting and waiting for you to do this.
I don't believe you will be sorry for this purchase as I think the Poldiac is the best designed mod ever and a piece of art work. I am waiting to see some pictures of it. Now is the perfect time to buy a Poldiac because of the sale prices and the exchange rate.
Don't waste your time getting a clone to compare to the authentic. I have been down that road and Poldiac clones are all junk. I have "played" with three different clones and all I can say is they look a little like the authentic and nothing more. The Poldiac has a design that is too complicated for the cloners and requires very fine machining, which MMVapors is known for. I have let some machinist friends of mine check out the machining on my Poldiacs and other MMVapors products and they were amazed at the quality of the machining.

Well All GP Paps stuff is nice, I just have a hot spot for the Lux :) One of my dream setups used to be a Paps Lux and Senio dripper. The Senio clone looked janky to me so I never got it.

Nikka plz mention fogger v6 to Doris ;)

I will do that hun :) Fogger V6, check! Miss Bunny will not be in today because my baby girl has her driving test today, so everyone wish her luck. :)

Yuppers! You and I have talked a lot about the Poldiac over the last several months, so you know how I feel about it. To me the Poldiac is a classic that will never go out of style. It is the most gorgeous mechanical ever made IMO, nothing has come close to touching the engineering and aesthetic of the authentic.

Because I know the clones are crap, that is even more reason to review it against the real deal  Clearly there are some things that China just couldn't nail, and this was one of them. I am an equal opportunity critic, just as I have criticized some authentic for not being worth their price, I will criticize the clone. Actually the non 1:1 PH22 got really good reviews when it first came out, but I think went down the hill a year later ... it was the 1:1 that was crap from the beginning, and I heard the V2 clone was no better.

I am glad that I have a resident Poldiac expert in you hun to guide me in handling my new beauty

I need to hire you for research and investigation girl, cuz you always know where the hot deals are. :)

A little bird (me) told Roxy about the Poldiac on the Mechanical Mod thread. She was looking for a 23mm mod and I suggested she take a look at the 22.6mm Poldiac and Nanos from MMV and provided a link. I love to share my love for all things that MMV makes.

I've always loved it, but hadn't realized it was 22.6mm...and on sale :)

My lovely Eviva-t now has a gorgeous authentic mech to call her own.

I don't think you will have any problems with your new Poldiac, but if you have any questions please let me know. I have been dealing with the Poldiac since January of last year.
The only things I can think of to pass on to you before you get your Poldiac is that the small screws that contact your atomizer 510 positive pin and your battery positive are reverse threaded(left handed threads). The larger metal screws that these two screws go into are right handed threads where they screw into the plastic switch housing. This may be a little confusing until you take it apart the first time. I have seen some new owners screw the small screws tight into the larger metal screws and then would back the larger screws out of the switch housing when trying to adjust the 510.
This link has the manual for the Poldiac and a video. Product Manuals • MMVapors
It is well worth reading before you get your Poldiac and watch the video of the switch assembly.

I do screw the small screw that contacts the positive end of the battery all the way in as the spring in the end cap will take care of battery rattle.
If you want to carry your Poldiac to a whole other level of performance get some NO-OX-ID A-SPECIAL and put on all threads and contact points. I use it on all my mechanical mods and they hardly ever need their contact points or threads cleaned. It only takes a very small amount and I put it on with the tip of a toothpick.
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=NO-OX-ID+A-SPECIAL&_sop=15

Do not clean your contact points with anything abrasive as they have a Rhodium over silver coating.

Glad to have you and Roxy as new members of the Poldiac family.

i guess you have already solved the stiffness of the juice control in your robbot kf4, Nikki.
i was able to get it smoother by unscrewing the 510 pin a bit. but then the 510 results very long, and didn't like it.
read somewhere (sorry i don't know the author) this fix, which has worked for me:
sanding part #7 (white rigid o-ring) to make it thinner, so part #9 can be fully screwed while allowing parts #3 and #5 to spin freely. it was an easy workaround.

and to remedy the leaking, i screwed the air screw (part #13), till it doesn't protrudes over part #14. it's still getting enough airy for me. and replaced the #16 o-ring from 14x1.5 to 15x1.5mm (although this has contributed to make the juice control stiffer back; so if yours doesn't leak, leave the 14x1.5 stock one).

Well thank you being the bird to my other little bird who had the right of mind to tell me about it too. This is the one authentic mech that I have always wanted, sincerely. I was not even this excited about the SXmini. To me this is a treasure, and at the right price too. :)

I owe you double thanks actually because it was your idea for me to reach out MMV to review their Overone RDA, and now they are sending me one.

really happy with this derringer RDA

but I just keep over-dripping which is weird getting used to

That Derringer is so tiny and cute .. did you pick this up from FC? How is your Kangxin Flask doing? :) I have been using it every day since last Thursday and it is performing well for me, now problems at all.

I said I wasn't buying anything else in the foreseeable future, right? RIGHT? lol... I have a line on a reasonably priced OG Dimitri. Must resist. Of course, if it is still around on Friday I may succumb to the temptation.

Speaking of Dimitris... Crocky, the copper sheets are sitting in my mailbox. I'm not sure if I'll get the connectors cut tonight or not. Should be tomorrow at the latest. I'll let you know when I've sent them.

Nikki, can't wait for the Overone review!

Nope .. My Robbot KF4 is still as stiff as a brick, but I don't care because I just don't use it anymore. I didn't have any issues with leaking on the Robbot KF though, just the really stiff JC.

I have two beautifully working Tobeco KF4's so that is what I am presently using, and quite happy with them. Both are perfect in every way, and have not given me a moments trouble. :)

Oh nice, an OG Dimitri eh? Too bad you didn't have that while reviewing the clone. :) I can certainly understand the temptation there, especially if you are getting a good deal on it.

I am going to show some priority to that one when it gets here, and do my best to get that review published by the end of the month. I am very much looking forward to using it and reviewing it.
