LOL

so who recommends this over the aqua and who recommends this over the kayfun lite plus? looking for the best rta for my fiance. she wants low maintenance after i build it for her and the fill methos for the fogger v4 would probably be a nuisance for her. wouldnt be a problem for me tho. i would probably get it for myself if its better than my kfl +

That would be completely a matter of preference. I love my Russian 91% and even my cheap KFL clone from fasttech better than my Aqua. I still enjoy my Aqua, don't get me wrong, specially after adding a clear tank wish is tighter on the base oring, eliminating a lot of tank wobble and I can see my liquid level, but I get better consistency and flavor from my Kayfuns.
If you must choose 1 and only 1, I would recommend a KFL in a heartbeat, no reason to look back, but if you can afford it, I would say get 1 of each! Different juices shine at different resistances, some benefit from single micro coils, vs others shine on a sub ohm dual coil.

After 3 builds I'd rank it behind the Kayfun and Aqua. And I would not buy one until they fix the AFC.

Yeah go with the stainless my friend. Like you said that black finish will eventually come off. But man it would look so good on a black mech.

Im wondering if there is anything that could be placed over the black finish to coat it and stop it from chipping off. Maybe clear finger nail polish or something

Yeah, me too, along with the black Stingray. And I had promised myself not to buy any more mods and RBAs in a while :)

If the clone of the black Stingray is even close to the authentic, then it is a steal at that price. The switch looks a little different, but since it's not torn down, its hard to tell if the tolerances are right.

I definitely think its a lot better than the Kayfun. It is even better than the Aqua and that is saying a lot. For me it is even better than the Taifun GT and that is saying a hell of a lot. It vapes exactly like the Aqua once you set it up correctly but has more than double the juice capacity and you can see the liquid. The only downside is the AFC is a bit loose...I used sewing thread and got it under the AFC to make it stiffer. Other have use plumbers tape to do that.

Hi Chief63

I was a little disappointed in mine after the first few builds. I also was using an o ring to hold the AFC since I couldn't get the upper ring off over the AFC-not very cool for sure!

AFC RING;
After starting my 6th build I started unscrewing the top cap and while unscrewing I noticed the ring over the AFC was unscrewing with the tank and cap. It just decided to finally break loose!! Nice! I pulled off the AFC ring and wrapped a thin layer of teflon tape over area and poked a couple holes through the tape where the holes are. It holds nice and snug now as if I still had the o ring on. Funny, as I tried everything short of pliers to get that ring over the AFC off with no luck and it finally just decides to loosen up. Hmm?

Building the coils;
After several builds without the aid of a drill bit or screw driver to hold the coils when attaching to the posts, I decided to try to get the coils as close to the air holes as possible. That turned out to be the key for me and it performs fantastic now with wonderful flavor (better than my OG TFGT and KFL+). I wrapped my 28g kanthal over a 5/64 bit with a 9/10 wrap and with the bit still in the coil, I firmly held the coil in the crevace and against the air hole. I held it there with the bit and wrapped the ends, then did the same on the other side. After I tightened the posts I slid the bit back in and raised the coils about 2mm off the air holes. Now my wires are the same length and positioned perfectly over the holes. I'm using less wick to the channels now since the coils are closer and the feed, flavor and vapor are amazing right now.

dont give up on it!!!

I like my coils all of my RBAs as close to the air holes as possible. I find the flavor and density of the vapor improves pretty substantially this way. I'm not a big throat hit guy so this works for me.

agree! same here!!

I just felt at first that since this RTA has such a tall deck-to-post that initially a higher coil may work fine. NOT!!!

Like you say, "closer the better"

I'm digging it!!!

Still have my KFL+ next to me though, along with the FV4. Chain vaping a couple flavors at my desk here at work!!!

Life is good

The Aqua is damn sexy in hybrid mode on the Origin mod. Beyond that, on day 2 with the Fogger V4, I give the win to the Fogger. In fairness, my Aqua is a clone (and I'm quite satisfied with the purchase), but IMO, the flavor is better on the Fogger as well as it being a slightly cooler vape. My Aqua always gets warm to the touch quickly. It is also less of a mess to fill then the Aqua, not mention the Fogger's cavernous capacity. The Fogger wins in terms of draw too. Again, my Aqua is a clone, but the draw on the Fogger is much more open, and I seem to be preferring to actually close it down a bit.

A Kayfun doesn't compare fairly against two atomizers designed to be dual coiled.....The Aqua and Fogger are Kayfun hot rods.

Honestly, if the consideration is the ease of filling and serviceability, then you might consider the Taifun GT. You fill it like you fill a Protank. Doesn't really get any easier then that and it's an awesome vape.

For those having issues with wicking/coiling I used 28 gauge kanthal to build 2 1.6 ohm coils, so came out to .8 ohms. I had trouble initially with wicking this atty too much cotton in the channels then too little. After rethinking, it was so simple, do it kayfun style with a twist.

Initially don't put the wicks in the channels at all. pull the wick ends straight up and slip the chimney collar over the wicks and screw down(personally since i use high vg juices i unscrew it one full turn.), then trim the wicks to about a 1/4 inch above the top of the chimney collar, then separate and use a 20 gauge needle to push the wick ends into the channels lightly. wicks perfectly.

hope this helps :)

I'm gonna have to try this when mine arrives.

    I simply used 1.2mm inner diameter to wrap the coils, put a 1mm ekowool strand in it (they are always bigger) and put the wicks into the channels almost to the bottom. Works for me with pure VG juice. Not sure if what I'm doing constitutes chain vaping though (I usually swap back and forth between 2 mods with different flavors).

    Anyone doing vertical builds?

    37, ph0n3 h0m3.

    I was actually thinking about doing a vertical build on my Aqua, but didn't have time to tear it down this morning before leaving for work. I've heard great things on a vertical for the Aqua, I asume that it would be better on the fogger, since the build deck has a lot more vertical room than the Aqua.

    By the way, I just got a shipping notification from Fasttech on my black Fogger V4 that I just ordered yesterday! Can't wait!
