Make sure you use RUSTY needle nose, that's the important part.

Please tell me how you removed the ground post?

I have the brass 4.4 (4.1) and built it today using 2 horizontal coils, 10 wraps each coming out to 1.4 ohms as the initial 8 wraps gave us 1 ohm precisely, but unable to fire on the Vamo V3. With rayon wicking the Fogger V4.4 produces delectable flavor, but again how do remove the ground post so you can lay vertical coils directly above the air holes?

like 350 said: You just unscrew it using a pair of pliers (must be rusty) :toast:

Thank you AMD, might try that. Is it possible to put it back if you fancy a change or if it doesn't work or for you?

I have no idea what you just said

It is just like any other threaded screws: You can take it out and put back together.

I think I get it...

The correct answer should be: "You'll racan it do"

This is why us foreigners have such hard time learning English. There are so many variations of it. From "Nukeelar reactor and Eye-talian food to Axing a question and we Was Fixing to go to work"
Its obvious its not your first language but you speak it better than I and many here. So when you get those oddities just do a very American thing ... Shake your head and mutter "Americans" ;)

Thanks for your kind words.
But you misunderstood. It doesn't bother me, I just want to be able to understand what is being said to me. That's all. And I'm not going to mutter "Americans" because I consider myself one and proud of it.

Got a gurgling issue with my v4.1 (4.4). Tried to use the search, but it's worthless :p

So I have 3 fogger v4's, two of them clones (one has deep channels, the other does not). The third is an authentic 4.1 with the deep channels. All 3 are using the same wick & coil setup which is dual 9 wrap 30g kanthal on a 1/16" bit coming to 0.9ohms coils sitting roughly 1/16" over the air holes, and wicked using rayon. My preferred method thus far has been leaving the tails ontop of the channels which has been working great; I can put rayon down the channels and it works too, doesn't really matter unless I get the density wrong. All 3 perform the same using the same juice, doesn't matter if the channels are shallow or deep in that regard, so end results are quite consistent.

So my problem is with the authentic 4.1, it's constantly gurgling on me now. If I turn it upsidedown and blow, I may get a tiny bit of juice out the air holes, but otherwise it's not leaking. Flicking any excess out through the top also gives me a few clean crisp hits, but usually gurgling again moments later. I cannot figure out what the heck the cause is, especially when I have two devices that don't do this. I've tried changing the coil height around with no luck. Currently I have rayon going down the channels thinking maybe my wick placement has been exposing a hole, but it's virtually the same. I even take off the top chimney and examine the wicks using a flashlight to shine light from the bottom of the channels up, at least I know it's not that.

So what in the heck could be going on to cause just this one device to gurgle but not leak (even after toughing through a whole tank that sat filled overnight)? It's driving me absolutely insane because it's performing just fine otherwise, but gurgling mutes my flavor and reduces vapor output. I don't even know what to try to remedy it.

This is a long shot in the dark, but I would inspect/replace a silicon O-Ring that seals the chimney against the top cap first, and then the rest of the O-Rings.

Another thing to check when you have it apart is the vertical and horizontal air holes. I found a long spiral metal chip left from the drill bit in one of vertical holes in mine, that could hold juice in the hole. It's a long shot that's the problem but it will only take a few seconds to check and make sure.

Sitting down, facing forward.
After about a month I've finally gotten the Fogger 4.1 producing tons of vapor and flavor! My secret, take off that air control ring so I can actually do a lung inhale versus a throat inhale. I did up the power from 16 to 17 watts, but WOW what a difference with that ring off! I know that people say it is chamfered to allow full air flow, but it sure makes a major difference without it. Now I will be working on that ring since it does look better with the ring in place. After that I may spring for a drill press so I can drill out the air channels.....to be continued.

I came to that same conclusion.Looking at the ring, you can sort of see between it and the holes if looking up from the bottom,so technically it's not really sitting against the holes to block them, but the air still has to come from underneath. So like you,i took the ring off,and found it to make a world of difference. My orchids have a very easy airy draw, and after removing the ring, the foggers are now just as good of a draw, also like you though,i think they look alot better with the ring,so i will be drilling the rings out like the person a few pages back did on theirs.

I really want to cut it down, eliminate the smooth portion on one edge, so it still has the knurl and smooth section on top. I may just drill it, or more likely, use a Dremel and cutting bit to produce a tapered sort of slot, but the best way would be to cut the ring down.

With the ring off I sound like Darth Vader, minus the click, on each inhale. Gotta make those holes just a tad bigger. Maybe I'll work up the nerve to take a speed controlled drill to it IF I can clamp it securely without damaging the base.
