Well that sucks. A 5-40 tap would be my next suggestion...or just send the damn thing back!

I don't know how you can operate with imperial standards like #5-40 from the top of your head

I had to lookup A5-40 UNC and found that it is 3.175mm pitch 0.635mm and that makes you absolutely right. :toast:

A 12 Gauge shotgun means that if you take 1 Lb of lead and make 12 round ball of it and each ball diameter will indicate the diameter of the barrel of the gun. How confusing is that? Couldn't they just measure the dam hole in the barrel? Like 7.62 mm for example or 0.30 in. Or 30 od 6 (30-6), why not 29.4?

Wouldn't you agree that Metric is so much easier?

Oh, hell yeah metric is easier! But I've got over 35 years worth of non-metric experience under my belt. Anyone would have a pretty good grip on it after that much time

I still have to pull out the ol' Machinist Hand Book every now and then. Some of those experiences must have fallen out of one of the holes in my head!

Hey AMD, we're basically a Nation OF foreigners! Makes for a great place, don't you think?

I think metric is great, but with over 65 years of English/Imperial system it can be a little daunting. Thankfully the internet and Google can simplify it for me and my aged brain cells.

Yeah google itself gives most conversion. You can for example just type in: 1' = mm
    Works for lots of units.

    May I brag a little?

I finally increased Airflow of this kayfun 3.1ES from 1.6mm to 2.6mm

Hey AMD great work! Thats quite a big job to tackle but looks like you nailed it. I wonder if the juice channels will need enlarged too?

So this is kind of related. I got my Lemo and sadly it needed work as well. Its working quite well now though. And to get to my main point, the positive pin/air channel is HUGE on this thing from the factory. So much that even with the air adjuster removed AND two additional holes drill it was still not making full use of it. After grinding slots in the side problem solved! :) Too bad it looks like ......

Yo AMD. How's the airflow compared to your drill out Fogger?

Also can you take a picture of it side by side with a normal KFL+? WANNA see the height diff

    Burping out loud using Tapatalk

The airflow is 2.4mm each, the same as drilled Fogger.

A normal Kayfun Lite is something I don't have, here is Kayfun 3.1ES instead:

You guys are killing me, or the quest to improve is just getting to me.

I wanted to rebuild the Fogger 4.1 on my iPV even though it didn't really need a rebuild, only 30ml or so through it, so I decided to try the twisted 32 gauge coil configuration. I pulled out about 25 ohms of 32 gauge, made a little hook to chuck in the battery drill, and wound it up nice and tight. Then, carefully measured out 2.4 ohms of twisted wire and cut two pieces the same length. It came out to eight wraps on a 14 gauge needle with legs long enough to work with.

Mounting the coils was really easy compared to single wire coils. I tweaked them into position about 1mm above the air holes and nicely centered. Wicking, with rayon of course, was also very easy compared to single wire coils. When I checked the overall resistance it came in at .9 ohms, not bad for shooting at 1 ohm. I was in a rush, so no photos. I'll take some when I check things after the first tank.

It does put out lots of vapor, but so does a non-twisted configuration. I'm running at 23 watts, higher than that and it is just too warm for my tastes.

The jury is still out on this one until after I get a tank or two through it. I do want to check the wicks. The build I took out had one wick that was just a little too loose for my tastes and I want to make sure this one is actually symmetrical in that department.

    Rock on, awsum!

I've been putting off a lot of rebuilding/wicking. I've got a twisted 30ga single on the magma that runs great on my new mech.

I've been meaning to try dual 28's on the fogger, something I wouldn't have been able to power well with the VTR. I made some 8/9 wrap beauties the other day, and lost one while I was putting off the rebuild. Oh well, I plan on making a 2nd and installing today. We'll see!

Speaking of VTR... Mine was sitting, collecting dust until now:

What tank is that on your VTR, AMD? I took some measurements and did a little math trying to get a Fogger on mine, assuming I'd use a brake hone to widen out the top ring. If I did that the top ring would be less than .5mm thick, just a tad too thin for my tastes. I'm using a Fogger, 4.1, with the extension tube but it does make for a really tall mod.

    It is Erlkonigin https://www.fasttech.com/p/1893601

It is 20.7mm in diameter. I wouldn't suggest trying to widen that VTR ring to fit your Fogger.
