I know it probably wouldn't be to safe but if i mixed in some food coloring would it make colored vapor? has anyone tried this?

No, it wouldn't, yes tested it without inhaling, just for fun and to proove to myself that it doesn't work.
Coloring will just deposit more gunk on the atty.
