Random, possibly stupid DIY question...

Is it safe to add tiny amounts of food coloring to your DIY mixes to tell them apart?

Might be a stupid question but I was looking in my cupboard and saw that the food colorings I have are PG based....

So ... is it safe?

Now, why do you want to dye your lungs?

Have you thought about a label maker? Brother makes some pretty inexpensive ones and the labels hold up with PG spillage. There is also the paper behind tape trick to mark a bottle.

I agree with Hoosier. I am fan of the paper and tape trick as I use different colored paper and ink to distinguish different flavors and strengths.

Masking tape wrapped completely around the bottle does pretty well.

This is one of those things that most of us DIY'ers simply don't do.

I guess if it is PG based. It could be reasonable and safe. But, I also know that it is entirely unnecessary as I just go get a sheet of self-adhesive mailing labels (for printers) and a sharpie and viola!

I just don't use color because I try to keep as many variables out of my lungs as possible.

I agree with the responses above. On a somewhat related note, it will NOT color the vapor. lol. So those reading this thread can avoid trying it...just in case someone got any bright ideas while reading. The question comes up every once in a while. Light refraction/reflection from the tiny droplets is white. There are a lot of real dark juices, for example, all still produce white vapor.

OTHO... some DIY ingredients will color the liquid different colors. Vanilla flavoring for DIY e-juice usually changes a clear liquid to a pink or yellow. Most end up either clear or yellow/brown ish.

actually, I use different colored drip tips on my tanks and have those written down in a notebook to which flavor/mix it is.
