So anyone else try rebuilding the fics yet? Well I did... I tried the prebuilt 1.0ohm coil with the included cotton while following the video then I tried using my own 26g and made a 5 wrap 1 ohm coil and used vcc cotton...both builds were unvapable and had me gagging. Gotta admit the aquas have never been the easiest to setup for me but seems like this things even worst. Specifically wicking this thing is more tedious than any rba I've owned except for maybe the lowpro.

Like someone else said this thing may sadly just end up in the classifieds. The SE is where it's at.

Oh, dang, is it that bad? Here after watching the video I thought this might be a nice stepping stone into rebuilding for some.

So some factory coils are 1 ohm? What resistances do they come in?

The one in the tank on arrival is .45 ohms, the second coil in the package is disassembled, meaning you need to build it yourself, kanthanl at 1 ohm. I build a nickel coil instead, but have not used it yet. I'm a little worried now lol.

Ok so I took the prebuilt coil out just now. Put my own built Ni200 coil in. The supplied cotton I isn't the greatest starting flavor (I see no reason you couldn't thin out Japanese cotton and use it.) I used the mandrell that came with, you pretty much have to, 3.5 to 4 mm without measuring. 7 wraps of 26 ga, .082. Connection is stable at .082 on the sx mini. Performance and flavor are getting better by the pull. I am happy, in theory you should never have tip buy another coil since the casing is ceramic.

Idk I've never been that great of a builder and wicking has always been the toughest part for me. I'm going to take another stab at it cuz when it's working it's a great atty with good flavor

The great thing on this is your using a set size for the coil, and wicking is just wrapping cotton around it. I build everything and this is on the anyone can do it and. Pro-Tip use eliquid as glue to keep the outer layer of cotton from sliding around when you insert the coil pack.

Edit: Now working exceptionally. I'm happy with this tank and it's simple and solid.

I can see people loving this to be honest. But it's just too much of an open draw for me, closing it all the way so I can mouth to lung doesn't produce a satisfying vape such as the V2. I haven't even bothered with trying to rebuild as it seems like a nightmare just by looking at the manual. I can re-wick a v2 in 1 minute and I'm good to go, I'm sure this will take much much longer than that.

Personally, I think it's a shame that the "advancements" being made in atomizers are pretty much including only ridiculous airflow lung hitters. It might be fun having a couple of puffs like that but it's not how I smoked cigarettes anyway so it doesn't speak to me at all.

If you were in the States I'd take it off your hands. My preferred airflow on a tank is in the Hurricane area wide open, sometimes a little more airy than that but not much.

The build doesn't seem too bad. Wicking seems like the tricky part, totally doable, just a bit more of a process than we're used to with traditional coils. & So far no vids showing using a fluffier type of cotton or SS mesh which'll also work. But time will tell.

I can't wait for mine. My dilemma will be whether to try the pre-built or jump right into a Ni200 build. I think I'll start off with fluffy cotton too.

I also think that rather than cutting the excess tail of cotton from the coil once its put into the ceramic housing, you could simply wrap it around the outside of the housing one turn then cut it. It would be more secure and easier than using a separate piece for the outside like he did in the video.

So I got mine today. Used the FICS that came in it at 1/2 Ω for awhile. Definitely airy. Ended up closing mine almost to the point of shutting it off completely.
Then decided to rebuild using 26 gauge Ni200 5 wraps for 0.08Ω. Definitely took me a lot longer than I'm used to, but then again, I'm not sure how much longer it took me than when I wrapped my first coil to begin with. In other words, I'll probably be able to do it quicker and more efficiently with practice. I wicked with cotton bacon which worked, almost too well. I pretty much carefully pull pieces of cotton apart, didn't twist or compress it (just like I do with regular coils to increase wicking) but in the end I got a hint of gurgling so I should've packed/compressed it some.

I also notice with Ni200 @ 0.08Ω, the atty gets pretty hot even though it says its staying around 300-320ºF and when vaping @ 17-20W.

Its definitely a totally different way of coiling and wicking than I'm used to.

Later on I'll try re-wrapping it with my usual 28 gauge nickel to come in at 0.12Ω & re-assess.

I like the design on this since it's more true to an RTA. I haven't seen a tank(clearo) that uses the same exact coil unit components to rebuild. It's possible that I'm partial to the design because I love the V2 and SE.

It does look very tedious to wick, but taking into consideration that it's a vertical build it actually looks like a breeze compared to other vert set ups. It's almost a tool-less build too.

My first coil I wicked with the supplied cotton. Its a Ni coil and going strong in day 4. My next plan was to wick with regular cotton Its encouraging to hear it's working.

Cool thanks. Yeah, that does seem slightly high, I thought the MSRP on this was supposed to be $50?

Although their SE is priced correctly, so maybe that is what its going to be?

Yea 49.99 was listed on footoons Facebook so I have no idea where they came up with that price.

Not sure Dan but it's a bonus.

I picked one up knowing the MSRP and took into account the free shipping.

Technically priority mail should never be much higher than $5.25 for the small flat rate box unless a business adds margin to the shipping.

I figured I paid $10 more then I should have but I liked the look of it and wanted to give it a try. Some of us buy way more stuff then we need anyway :)

I retried with 28awg Ni200. Having a hard time getting the resistance I ought to 7 or 8 wraps and its saying 0.24 which can't be right. I did find that it was a lot easier to build the second one compared to the first but I still need a lot more practice.
It'll be interesting to see the different variations people are able to create with it once its more accessible.
