My main problem with vaping is that I wanted it to be easy. Pick up your PV, inhale, put your PV down. I know there are a lot of vapors who enjoy fiddling with stuff, rebuilding, tweaking, modifying, etc. and I say more power to them, but I'm not one of them. I do drip, but only to try new flavors. I don't enjoy doing it full-time. I used stardusts, but I spend a lot of time refilling them, too, even though it wasn't hard to do. And although I enjoyed the fact that I never had one leak, the consistency on them could be a problem--one would work great, the next not so much with a lot of dry hits. I also used Boges, but grew tired of topping off regularly.

This past week, I ordered a couple of Smoktech 6 ml. tanks. I've finally found the perfect fiddle-free solution for me and I wanted to share my experience with others who are finding vaping to be a little too high maintenance for their tastes.

I have a lot of different juices and I still use Stardusts and other devices for the ones I just want to enjoy as a quick treat, but I filled a couple of the tanks with my go-to juices and it's wonderful---little bit of a learning curve to fill them without pulling the carto out too far, but once they are filled, magic. No more dry hits, no dripping to top off, no hassle. The Boge inside stays nice and full of juice, the silicone stopper prevents me from sucking a mouthful of juice, the tank looks great on my Provari mini and I have the smaller tanks for my ego Twist, which also look and work great.

Once filled, they are good-to-go for a looooong time. Just pick it up, inhale, and put it down. Easily switch tanks when you want to switch flavors--just unscrew one off and screw the new one on. I'm storing the ones that are full but aren't in use in empty prescription bottles that are labeled (not my idea, found it on here--genius!). I bought a cheap plastic in drawer spice rack which I have in my coffee table drawer with the bottles lined up in it, so I can open the drawer, select a flavor and go. Going out? Just grab a couple of prescription bottles and throw them in my purse with my PV and extra batt. As easy as grabbing your pack of stinkies and a lighter.

At first, when I looked at tanks, I was intimidated, but they really aren't that hard to master. It's seems complicated with the single coil, double coil, ohms choices, etc. but there are plenty of threads on here that will steer you in the right direction if you do a search. And once you find the right one for you, all you have to do is spend ten minutes filling a couple of tanks and you won't have to fiddle with anything again for days. Yup, I said days. And I've found the vapor and taste to be great.

I know this isn't the perfect solution for everyone, but for those like me who are looking to make vaping as hassle-free as possible and minimize time spent fiddling, this is pretty darn great. Just thought I would share for the new vapers who are feeling overwhelmed by all the maintenance. :)

By the way--today is one month without a stinky for me. Yay me!! Yay vaping!!

Thank you for your post, and CONGRATS on "one month without a stinky". You're doing GREAT!!! :D

I agree with you. Too much "fiddling" spoils the experience for me. I also want to just pick up my PV and vape conveniently.

I've been using the Stone Tank V2 (with replaceable innards, from Gotvapes.com). Although I'm a fan of tanks with wicks, the replaceable innards are not lasting me more than a couple of days before they come apart. So, I'm considering a tank with a carto inside. I don't particularly like cartos, but if they'll stay fresh in a tank (not go 'funky tasting'), that may be the route for me to go.

I use Ego batts and a Lavatube, and tend to vape at about 3.7 volts/2.1 to 2.6 ohms. (I need to order a 'twist'. :p)

Can you provide a link to the tanks you use? I would appreciate it!

Thanks again!

Congrats on the month.

I like tanks too, but I didn't want to buy the "set" if you will, because I already had cartos. I found that MyVaporStore has just the tank and caps for sale for a decent price. Just figured I'd share in case you were looking for something like this.

Thanks, that's good to know. Being a newbie, I'm always afraid I'll buy the wrong thing that doesn't work with the other thing I ordered, so it was easier for me to just buy the set and know I'd have what I needed. I did buy a carto punch so I can make holes in the cartos I already had now that I know they will fit the tanks. :)

I've been doing the Carto / Tank thing for a while now though I mostly stick to the 3.5ml version for looks. Don't want anything too bulky. But yeah, it's definitely the least fuss setup.

Smoktech has a new 2.5ml tank that has the Ego style threaded cone built in. It cuts about a 1/4inch off the overall length compared to regular tanks and fits seamlessly with no need for cones or rings. It comes with a 1.5ohm pre-punched carto that rocks on the ego twist batteries.

They come in all the colors too. Here's an example though I've seen them slighlty cheaper elsewhere. eGo 510 Dual Coil Tank Cartomizer, 2.5ml

Yeah, I got some of those, too, and love them. Nice smooth look and good performance on the Twist.

I'm a dedicated dripper, and I hate cartomizers and have no interest in trying tanks.
Having said that, I liked your post.

I may not want what you want from vaping, but I appreciate your option and your explanation of why it works for you.
We could always use more people understanding what they want and need and then explaining what worked for them and why.

So, yeah, good post!
:)

If you don't like to fiddle, get a Reo. The mini is indestructable and holds 3 ml of juice- fits in the palm of your hand. Get a good atty, even cartos and that's it.

And if your pockets aren't quite deep enough for the reo, definitely jump on the vmod, you will. LOVE it. Well manufactured bottom feeders really are stunning. From your post I would highly suggest trying one. Also, look into the kick, if you had one that would probably make this post twice as long, they're THAT nifty.

I love my tanks however I had issues with my fav root beer juice cracking plastic. I found glass tanks and have never looked back. Stated with a Phiniac, now I am buying beautiful tanks from Hot Vapes in hand blown glass.

I have a couple of Phiniacs on order. Love the idea of a glass tank. Always think everything tastes better in glass than in plastic.
