I picked one of these lamps up for $25.00 from Harbor Freight, really helps when building small coils, especially for those of us using reading glasses all the time!

Nice device. What kind of lighting does it use, and where is it located, on the bottom?

There is a circular flourecent tube housed in the top,around the outer edge of the magnifier.

50...yes I concur specs are needed that's okay I used to be able to find me a pack of Marlboros without specs, hmm RJ rentals and advertising.

I have the same lamp in black bought from Hobby Lobby. I use it for all my bench work, coils, gun cleaning and fine wood work. I use it to file my nails as well[emoji13] I would be nowhere without mine. I need to order a replacement bulb....any of the local shops carry it?

I have a similar setup, except the lamp and magnifying glass are two separate entities with their own stands. They have really helped these 61 y/o eyes see what I am trying to do.

I have a pair of surgical loops (magnifying glasses that surgeons use for microsurgery), but they were set up so that the working distance from eyes to hands is greater (and unneccesarily awkward) than I need them to be for building coils and installing wicks.

That's the trouble with some of these lamps. Replacement bulbs are hard to find according to one of the reviews on Harbor Freight.

That's why most of my coils are 22 gage wire nowadays my girl gave me her old glasses for my 26 gage sub tank builds
