Zep,
I saw your name and your mention of Zepplin and couldn't resist sharing.
I was lucky enough to see Led Zepplin on thier "Houses of the Holy" tour in Tampa at what's now the old Tampa Stadium (Now Raymond James) Then of course it was brand new (1973). They threw in Stairway to Heaven with all the blue lights and fog. I swear they did it to cover all the other "fog"! Now here we are "fogging" again and it's still illegal (almost). A month later I saw Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon tour. The sixies were good to me! Mary

I saw one of their last concerts on June 30,1980 at the Festhalle in Frankfurt, Germany. It was about 3 months before Bonham Died. (I was in the U.S. Army stationed in Schweinfurt)

At that show while Page was doing White Summer/Black Mountain Side, he stopped playing in the middle of the song and basically told the crowd to be quite as he couldn't think to play. I was literally 10 feet from him front row on his side of the stage.

It was awesome! I actually have a bootleg recording of that very show I found many years later!

As we are of an age when music really kicked, what other concerts have you seen?
I saw The Allman brothers and Z.Z.Top at the Stadium but Cheech and Chong, James Taylor, Seals and Crofts (I loved Summer breeze) and the Eagles at other venues.
My most memomorable concert was Meatloaf's. The concert hall was brand new and there was a lot of construction going on all around it, We were directed to drive to the back of the hall which was muddy and unpaved. My husband and I were trying to find an entry when a big guy comes up and asks how the hell to get in, he was p.o.ed! I told him we were there for the concert and had no idea where to go. A door with no outside knob opens and the big guy says he is the "Main Course" and wants in. The poor kid at the door stammer's Mr. Meatloaf this and that and the band starts trouping inside. Meatloaf tells us to follow him so we do and get to sit in the wings. He was very nice to us and looked nothing off stage like his on stage persona at that time.
BTW Zep, your avitar gives me the chills! That is one evil guy.
