Unfortunately I'm only 27, and I will probably be here thirty years from now. People my age disgust me with their ignorance of our system of government.

Oh, and being politically correct is a useless ideal. What happened to just being polite?

One of several reasons many wish to abolish The Constitution and Bill of Rights !!
Others just say ... Its been ignored in many cases for so long ...
its no longer valid & not worth talking about.

What really frosts my cake is watching our elected officials
take their oath of office ... swearing to uphold and defend the constitution.
What the heck ... They lie about everything else and their word means nothing
so why should they be concerned about 1 more lie.

Honestly, I think the problem with many of the anti tobacco zealots is that they have lost a loved one over its use.

Pity we cant hear from those lost loved ones.......I dont think they would be very happy with the direction their relatives have taken.

They would probably say "try blaming me instead of everyone else and get on with your lives"



Reminds me of this this story. In 1980 a X-Ray showed a small mass on my Mother's lung. They didn't see it. 1991 routine exam showed this same mass which had not grown any at all since 80 (compared 91 x-ray with 80). Even though there was no increase in size & no symptoms/complaints from my Mother, they insisted it must be treated. Two Months later my mother was dead. Fortunately, the doc didn't see the mass in 1980, or she would have been dead a decade sooner. My sister has both X-rays. I tried stopping the treatment with the reasoning that she felt great, but was shouted down by the doctor worshipers (my own family). The doc said he was sorry but he did all he could. He sure did. I have since learned (not @ webmd)that when the body detects a tumor, it encases said tumor in a rock hard like substance making it harmless unless the tumor is bombarded with radiation,chemo,or the knife which enables the tumor to breakout & spread uncontrollably. Two weeks before my Mother died she said 'they have killed me'. Now blame my Mother(not saying any are) if you will but she was in perfect health till the treatment started. I know in my heart who hastened my dear Mothers demise. These are the kinds of stories you never hear about. I have reason to believe that every human has an cancer(or several) but the body deals with it by sealing off said tumor. only when the doc gets their grimy little paws on it does it become life threatening. Cancer screening my be hazardous to your health. These statements have not been approved by the fda & certainly can't be true. i'm not a doctor & none of this is meant to diagnose or treat any disease. For educational purposes only. My mother shouldn't have gone to the doctor.

Not to sound cruel, but my favorites are when someone says "I lost my XXXXX to tobacco....She was 92." SHE WAS 92!!! How long is she supposed to live. When you beat the national or he avg life expectancy of the world, Its not completely tobacco or alcohol or whatever vice of choice. People die. Stop blaming it on everything.

Note: This is not to say that it doesn't happen either, but I have known quite a few "young" late 30s-50s people who have lived very healthy zealot-vice free lives and died "unexpectedly" (heart attack, cancer, stroke). Acting like everything is a scape goat for a lose is just ridiculous though.

Look at Andy Kaufman, he didn't drink, didn't smoke and died in his 30s. The same think happened to a guy who I worked with.

For you younger people, Andy Kaufman was an actor and comedian, who died in 1984.
And on the other side of the spectrum....my Great Uncle smoked a pack a day and drank 2 gallons of whisky a month until the day he died at the age of 93. My grandmother smoked until 73, she was lucky enough to quit, we count on celebrating her 101st birthday April 4th! Go figure

These are not an option for you , if you continue to use E cig, you will be around another 40 years. :toast:

Boy, I hope that's not true in my case. At 65, watching and listening to my 94 year old mother with her "I wish I would die" speech every other day, 40 years would be a curse. Give me another good 10 and talk to me then.

I posted this earlier in a different thread. My mom was 93 when she had a heart attack. They did a catheterization and found the whole lower half of her heart was shot so there was nothing they could do except medication. While she was in the hospital, they asked four times, that I heard, if she was ever a smoker. I told them know and she couldn't remember anyway, but my sister seemed to know she tried it and didn't like smoking. Had they gotten a yes from us, the box would have been checked and she'd eventually become a smoking related fatality like the rest of us.

Fi, I'm 63 and I don't want to be around in another 30 years, either. I mentioned our Constitutional rights to my 25 year old niece and not only was she not aware of our rights, but she thought that I was being silly to even mention such a thing.

I'm sure that the ANTZ will be very happy when us "old timers", are gone from this world.

And once upon a time, children were actually taught in public school about our Constitution and the principles upon which our country was founded. Not anymore.

Most progressives who are against e-cigs are 7 degrees of separation from being an intellectual.

Stupidity and following the crowd happens in junior high schools in all-conservative and all-liberal and totally mixed states and cities. It's just human nature. And only half of us outgrow it -- it's not the liberal or conservative half. I never figured out how to tell who was going go grow up by any means other than waiting 20 years.

They don't even speak the same language.

Who do you think gains the most by keeping it that way? Not flesh-and-blood people. Hmmm, maybe both The Beltway and Wall Street? Gov't "masters" and 1-percenter robber barons? Gun-toting nannies and big-money chemical companies? Big Brother and Big Credit Bureaus and Big Marketing.

I don't think the winners are you and me.

What has always eluded my understanding is how does a human being come to be so warped and bent. What happens to them that makes them hell bent on ruling others lives and proclaiming how others should live their lives and inside which boundaries.

I normally don't post smart-aleck remarks, but I just can't help it:

"They simply do not have a life."
