FIRST time since I've been vaping, too, I let myself go to work with an almost dry cart, and no extra liquid to top it off. (monday mornings, ugh.)

Realizing this at the beginning of my shift, I tried to vape sparingly, but a las, halfway through my shift the taste was so burnt that I was afraid if I tried to get anything else outta my cart, I'd probaby destroy the atty.

So, I figured I'd wait until my shift was over. 8-4, with only four hours to go, and I figured I'd be able to hold off.

Then, alas, one of my clients I work with (I work direct care for people with mental health issues) had a "crisis" sending her to the hospital and me with three and a half hours of overtime.

Needless to say, I caved in, and had an analog, or three. I could only smoke half, then throw it out, because it was gross, but it seemed like every extra hour I was there, I felt I needed to puff on SOMETHING.

Maybe it's just placebo, but it feels like my lungs hurt.

Note to self, dont make this mistake again.

I have a dse 901 lil case, and a 3 ml bottle of juice sent as a sample from awesome vapor that I normally keep in the case (it fits kind of awkwardly in the spot reserved for an extra cart) and it ran out over the weekend, and I remember thinking, I should refill that soon...
then i normally have an extra 16 ml bottle in a zipper pocket of my purse, but I pulled that one out to fill up my cart last night, then lazily forgot to replace it, OR refill the small bottle.

I was, however, once again reminded exactly HOW happy I am that I dont smoke analogs on the regular anymore.

An extra pack of stuff that I just keep in my purse or car and don't use except for emergencies is a really good, and useful idea.

hm...time to start brainstorming on what to use for my e-cig e-mergency case. =D

I use a digital camera case to carry my stuff. I always have my PV, 10ml bottle of juice, extra battery, extra atty, and a prefilled cart. My travel PV is a JS, so I can charge it in my vehicle through a USB car lighter adapter (haven't had to yet).

If any of that fails me, I have nasal snuff, and snus. The option of going back to analogs is pretty much nullified with that arsenal :)

Sounds like you had to learn the hard way :( I've been there too, you will only make that mistake once. . .maybe twice.

I had a similar experience. I was using a very fragile box mod, and you really need to take the atomizer out when you put it in your pocket, or (as I discovered when I sat down at my desk first thing in the morning) it can snap the atomizer connection loose. I figured, "Oh, well, this is going to suck, but there's nothing I can do about it," and settled in for a rough day. Then I went in my desk drawer for a file, and I saw the "emergency" pack of cigs and lighter I had in there from before I started vaporizing. The temptation to open up the pack and smoke it just got worse throughout the day. Finally, I just grabbed the pack and lighter and gave it to a co-worker who smokes. I was out the door at five on the dot and did 80 mph the whole way home (I never speed!). That was the closest I came to backsliding.

I picked up the same lesson you did -- have plenty of backups at all times.

I kinda have an odd job...I work as direct care at a home full of 4 people with mental illnesses, helping them get on their feet.

Because of that, I don't really have breaks where I can leave. I can step outside whenever I want, or make lunch there and eat it...but not really a break where I can go anywhere.

Good advice though. I haven't bothered with diy liquid yet, but its nice to know how to make it.

You are stronger than me.
No, I'm just very familiar with my own flaws, and acted accordingly. I knew that the social pressure to not be seen as backsliding to my smoking co-workers would keep me from bumming off of them. If I could just sneak off for a smoke, I would have caved eventually. Human brains are weird, and we can't really fix them, so I just try and work within the limitations. :)

My suggestion to avoid this is to keep one spare everything at work in a little box or case at the back of your desk drawer. A battery, atty, a few empty carts, a little bottle of eLiquid, and include one of those little USB chargers, because the battery will lose its charge after several days and you'll need to recharge it for an hour or so before you can use it. For a 901, that should be about a $25 cost all together. $6 atty, $9 battery, $4 charger, $3 3ml liquid at most, 2-3 carts + stuffing cost a few cents. Rotate it all out periodically, batteries and eLiquid have a certain lifespan to them even when not used.

I carry my "kit" with me at all times when leaving the house. If I'm going out, it just stays in my car. If I'm going to work, it comes with me. Has everything I need to stay prepared. I use a Janty Stick for normal vaping, but in my kit I also carry an 801 auto battery and a spare 510.

This is a Case Logic usb flash drive case. Is perfect for vaping accessories.

Contents:
Spare battery for the Janty
Tweezers for fluffing cart filler, etc.
801 Auto Battery
510 Manual Battery
510 Atty and cart
4x 801 Attys with carts, prefilled
1 801 Atty, empty with empty cart (for people wanting to try the e-cig)
4 Bottles of E-Liquid, various daily flavors

Folds up and fits into a coat pocket. Nice and neat. And I never have to worry about not having what I need.

Its the boy scout in me I guess.

Luckily, I work about a mile from where I live. I've had to run home twice for supplies now...usually dead batteries.

Once I was at a friends for a party and both atty's I had with me died. I caved and smoked 3 ciggies. They were AWFUL! It was a good lesson! Now, I carry 4 atty's that I know all work.
