I am having a whole lot of trouble posting a post. For some unknown reason, the cursor is defaulting to "upload a file", even after having specifically clicked on "post reply". I've even tried hitting the mouse button with great force, and swear words have occasionally been included.

This appears to be happening only when I attempt to insert quotes.

Yes, cache and cookies cleaned, and PC rebooted.

Anyone?

for quite some time now when I open up a thread on the "Watched Thread List" it does not open on the next new post since I last visited the thread . . . If I go back to the last post I read or one that I have left last time I was on the thread, I can see a number of new post that have been posted that I missed

I'm having a similar issue with the new software.

I use FF with the "Tab Mix Plus" add-on. I keep the ECF threads I follow on tabs.

With the "old" software when I'd close FF (eg. overnight)...then reopen it and click on a tab...it would open on the next new post since I last visited the thread.

With the "new" software when I close FF...then reopen it and click on a tab...it opens on the last post I had read. I then have to reload the page to see the subsequent "New" posts.

what still doesn't work for me is email notifications of new posts on my watched threads - I get very few and those are the threads I purposely posted on to see if that would make it work.. also, in the classifieds I like to see the messages by start time. but I have to tell it that every time I come to the forum. the setting won't stick.

No. I just expect things to work or be fixed....

Generally, if it's just one or two individuals who aren't receiving things, it's not something we can do much about as it's not going to be a system wide issue we can actually fix.

I do believe this was an issue at the beginning of the forum change. I may have tried the fix at the time, if my memory serves me correctly...

Which it doesn't always do

I was not sure if this was an ongoing issue for others, partly because I stopped getting notifications in this thread. So, if this continued to be discussed or not, I would not have known.

I do know that if I don't check in with ECF daily, I stop getting notifications on thread, but not forums, I've subscribed to. Don't know if other "rules" apply. Just to note, I am NOT an IT type person. I depend on others for that kind of stuff...

I believe this is normal behavior if I'm reading that correctly (I could be wrong, but it is fairly standard to work this way on a lot of forums). You should only get one email for unread posts in a subscribed thread, until you've visited the thread and will then get another notification of the next new post after you log out. Subscribed forums you'll get an email for each newly created thread.

As you can probably tell I'm not an expert with this stuff, either, so sorry if I'm not being much help

That's going to be a local issue on your system/browser. You know the drill. Clear the cache and cookies then log in again. :D

My problem went away by itself. I shut down my PC last night and the problem was gone this morning. I should have thought of rebooting. That usually fixes most problems.

True, but that's not what she said. She stated that she has to check in daily. That's no normal behavior of any forum I know.
