Well I am supposed to be going to Europe and don't know if I could make the trip without vaping. I guess I will either hold the vapor in or blow it into my shirt or something.

Check the travel forum for more tips - blowing it into your drink, using hot steaming coffee as a prop. I usually have nicorette gum. I vaped into my coat on a recent florida trip. I also have some snus on order:

I have been steadily cutting back on my nic intake and started ordering liquid at 4 mg. For me vaping soothes my nerves. I really do not like the taste of tobacco any more, funny after 29 years of smoking.

Thanks for your tips, I will try my best, I do not want to ruin it for everybody.

I went through security Yesterday in Richmond going to San Diego. Had my screwdriver and XHaler. They were interested in them and asked me about them. Once I showed the agents what they were, they were happy enough and actually thanked me for the device recognition training. ? I may have to buy some smaller batteries so they draw less attention...

Yes vapor can set off smoke detectors. One way some smoke detectors detect smoke is by projecting a beam of light that bounces back to a sensor. If the beam of light is refracted or otherwise interfered with, the detector goes off.

Because vapor dissipates much quicker than smoke, the chances of it making it into the sensor are lessened. But if you are fogging out a small area such as a airplane restroom, you could run into problems. Probably better to still stealth vape (hold it in) in the restroom, or at least blow the vapor downward.

Last time I flew Delta. That free magazine that is behind most seats did say e-cigs were prohibited. My personal opinion is stealth vape. Otherwise people will complain and then the airlines will start watching closer. You and I may believe it’s harmless but a lot of people will have a hissy fit.

Stealth Vape on a plane or you will spoil it for everyone.

edit to add- Just buy a KR808, they don’t produce any noticeable vapor. ; )

Some flight attendants actually do this when smoking analog cigs!! Not funny when they set the alarm off, although the smell is usually what gives it away!

I vaped in Springfield (MO) National, Chicago International and Regan National. Had a few people give me funny looks & ask what it was, but no problems. I spent A LOT of time in Chicago and D.C. due to weather delays. Also did some stealth vaping on each of my four flights (United) with no problems.

TSA knows about them. I take a complete kit of parts with me in my lugage as well as a couple full 901s on the plane plus... a battery box mod I built. I put the 901s in my laptop bag along with a 5ml bottle of juice. I also put the battery mod in my laptop bag with the batteries out of it, just lying in the pockets of my laptop case. No problems getting through any TSA so far. The kit of parts in my checked luggage was looked at a couple of times becuase the position of the zippers when I checked it in were different and the pocket where the kit was had been opened but everything is always there.

Please, please , please don't be stupid though and ruin vaping for all of us while traveling.

1. Don't vape on the plane. You don't have to. If you really must on a long flight, hold it in until there is no vaper.

2. In the airport, stealth vape there also. Do not let out a plume of vapor. In most people's eyes, where there's smoke, there's fire. Hold it in until there is nothing left to blow out. Sometimes you have to suck back a second time before exhailing.

I stealth vape in many airports and know one even cares but as soon as they see vapor, they're going to run and tell.

Make sure you stealth vape or you are going to ruin it for everyone.

I understand that it is confusing for the most people at the moment, but it´s only because of too little information and this is what we need to change and this will change. We can´t be hiding e-cigs in public places forever as there are new vapers every day and I think the change has to come from authorities and business owners. We have to get them accept these products. Any thoughts?

No matter what, they are going to be a form of cigarette. We might as well get used to it. The "smoke" we exhale is not "water vapor" and it does contain some nicotine along with a bit of flavor. If people can smell what you're smoking, they are also getting a very small amount of nictoine... therefore... we will always need to stay away from non-vapers or non-smokers when vaping. I cannot see it happening any other way.

I myself do not have a problem with that. I can and will do stealth in public since that is not affecting anyone. There has to be a bit of respect from us as vapers (even though we never get any). But to disrespect even the calmest of non-smokers can cause a bigger "no -vaping" uprising than there is now.

It will always be best to stay out of sight - out of mind. The days of smoking being glorious and fashionable are long gone.
