Stock Fountain V2 build experiments.

Using the stock top air chamber and top cap, I tried a few different builds to maximize flavor and vapor quality. Wanted to see how close I could get to my side air modifications.

First was a single twisted 26 gauge coil, 3 mm, positioned so it's just clearing the center post screw heads.

Flavor is excellent, vapor very warm and bright. A bit too much actually, too much coil too close to the mouth. I think a twisted 28 gauge coil would be more suitable for a single high build like this.

Second was a single split vertical coil, 24 gauge, 3 mm, positioned high so the wicks come up to the top cap.

Worked fine, less warm and bright vapor, though not the flavor of a single twisted of course, nor a simple high position dual.

Third was a dual 24 gauge build, 3 mm, coils positioned as high as possible, just clearing the top cap.

Excellent flavor, warm and bright vapor, much less of the dilution in vapor quality that motivated me to go to the side air modifications in the first place. Raising the coils as high as possible with the stock top air configuration yields the most satisfying vape IMO. It's good enough that I will leave one one of my Fountain V2s unmodified and built this way or with dual twisted 28 gauge coils.

I still prefer the side air and 2/3 chuff cap, but I know that kind of project is not for everybody.

For you guys that just can't hang with the wolf etching on the Fountain v2, there is the "Super Hero" lol, a more tough looking etching for that manly man! This baby has a different 510 tip that allows you to drip down it, why I don't know..LOL But hey, Atleast we see some development on it from the original.

Well to reflect, since there seems to be more development on this style of squonker tank, maybe my hope for them to come out with side air flow for my style of vaping is not too far off. If that happens I will for sure purchase again. One other thing that I was having some concerns with, was the way it was working on my PWM boxes. Since Im all about PWM mods these days, the normal faint wine from the rapid pulses of the PWM were very loud and almost a groin sound with the Fountain v2.

Yeah, fingers crossed on further options. If the base weren't sized for glass thickness, all sorts of existing steel chambers and top caps would fit. Reminds me, I gotta see what can fit just by changing o-ring thicknesses.

Weird, like a resonator. o_O

So now I could squonk with EVERY mod just by havin a huge atty?
No thanks, didn't like the original version Surge back on the days of dripping atomizers like HH357 and IKV stuff.

I see Fountain V2 as an alternative to an RTA. Huge? Not really. Here it is next to a Lemo 2. Holds more juice too.
