Btw, the host of this show is Don Imus, who has a show called Imus in the Morning. He is a former smoker and seems to be very sympathetic to the reasons that people vape. I'm sure he'd be open to opinions from former analog smokers who have used e-cigs to quit. I'm looking for his contact information but can't seem to find it. Here's his website:

This is exactly the good press needed before and during this regulation period. Those of us up to the task need to email these news groups (and other outlets) and ask for their support. I emailed Fox last week.....not implying this interview had anything to do with my request. Though If we ALL keep sending the message we actually may be heard. That was a very productive piece.

DC 5 is my local Fox News station. I sent this to their news desk:

The next time you do a story on electronic cigarettes, please contact me. I'm president of an all volunteer non-profit group, the Consumer Advocates for Smoke-free Alternatives Association (CASAA). We formed CASAA to fight the efforts to ban these products that helped us, and by now have helped millions of smokers to finally stop killing themselves. I can supply you with a long list of research that has been conducted on e-cigarettes and very little of it was funded by e-cigarette companies. Several of the assertions made in the piece are half-truths that mislead the public. The FDA forgot to mention that the quantity of "carcinogens" found in their tests of e-cigarettes, 8 nanograms, is equivalent to a nicotine patch. A pack of smokes may contain 125,000 nanograms, and it's important to keep in mind that the target market is adult smokers--not kids. The average e-cigarette user is much older than the consumers you interviewed--78.4% are over age 30, and nearly 1/4 are age 50 or older. See our survey results: https://www.surveymonkey.com/sr.aspx?sm=HrpzL8PN5cP366RWhWvCTjggiZM_2b8yQJHfwE9UXRNhE_3d

John Ban2haf ignores the fact that nicotine helps control symptoms of ADHD, depression, and anxiety, and may prevent dementia from Alzheimer's Disease and Parkinson's Disease. No wonder so many smokers feel so sick when they attempt to give up nicotine. E-cigarettes provide the nicotine they need without exposing them to tar, particulates, carbon monoxide, and thousands of dangerous chemicals.

NOTE: Typo in name of ambulance chaser is done on purpose to discourage him getting a hit when he searches for his name online, which he does often to boost his already-overgrown ego. It did not appear in the comment sent to the News Desk.

There is some good STUFF in this thread. I hope that this thread keeps going as we know that there will be many/many more news stories and video's we can post here. It amazes me how there are some people out there that just don't want to see people using nicotine in a less harmful way.

You are correct! Make sure you keep tabs on (or subscribe to) the entire sub-forum (as well as the legislative sub-forum)! :)
