Shepard Smith reported today on Fox News that the Obama Admin is considering a ban on electronic cigarettes on flights because they may harm others.

Shep gave a quick, kind of flippant explanation of what an ecig is and mentioned "water vapor or something".

Anyone know what kind of ecig the first one shown in the video was with the very short battery? Interesting.

"The e-cigarette association, which represents 25 manufacturers and distributors, says on its website that there are only five ingredients in the devices: nicotine, water, coriander, citric acid and fragrant orchid element."

That´s new to me.

Oh, I found where they got that: The Truth About Ecigs

No The Truth About Ecigs actually have the correct ingredients listed, there are several sites that are nothing more than blatant lies with no scientific basis around that they love to quote.

I'm just saying I think I found where they got that information (not that they interpreted it correctly). If you go to that link there is a list of ingredients posted, which I think was quoted from the FDA report (?). The article in question listed some of those, but not all.

More of the same old rabid anti BS... <sigh>

The part that really tips my taco is that they are defining vaping literally as smoking. Nebulizers are okay, though. (Gotta protect those BP buddies, ya know!) grrrr.

Smoking means the smoking of tobacco products or use of electronic
cigarettes and similar products designed to deliver nicotine or other
substances to a user in the form of a vapor. It does not include the
use of a device such as a nebulizer that delivers a medically
beneficial substance to a user in the form of a vapor.
