Greetings all,

I'm a real newbie when it come to subject of vaping, and I totally need lots of help. I stumbled on to the forum before purchasing. And while that in itself is a great thing, it also made me question everything. I'll share a bit of my story here, and hopeful it won't bore you all to tears.

I had been an occasional smoker between the ages of 17-30. When I hit my thirties I became a full-time smoker. I quit three time during that time, each time was harder than the last. My last attempt at quitting was a disaster... I'm allergic to the adhesive in the patches, and Chantix is not an option.

I also discovered the main root of my issue with quitting... I like smoking. I mean, I really like smoking.

I have no other vices, am not a dare-devil on the weekends, or a stunt car driver, or thrill seeking individual. I just like to smoke. What I don't like is the cost, and the health risks especially as I'm getting older. About a year ago I disovered e-cigarettes. My fiance and I have talked about them on and off for the last year. He demo'd a SmokingEverywhere in a mall and thought this might be something we could switch to.

The main issue with switching over to e-cigarettes was money. With 2 smokers who enjoy a pack a day each it was going to be an undertaking. The cold hard cash to get started had to be spent wisely. We could not afford to be switching systems, we were going to neeed a setup that would work and be cost effective.

Over the last month I'd been researching, and had narrowed down what I thought we are looking for... and then came here and discovered that some of those systems just suck.

We have the money to make the switch, but I'm nearly paralyzed in the decision process. The last system I looked at was the Volcano Inferno(T). And now I'm just more confused, and feel like I need to be completely re-schooled on the subject of vaping before even attempting to buy.

What I'm looking for in a system is something that will be easy for us to refill, a long bettery life or charging pack for the long work day, easy cleaning and a cost-effective setup. As a smoker, I smoke menthol. I like the back of the throat hit that comes with it.

Any suggestions on what I should investigate next would be greatly appreciated. I hope my rambling here doesn't offend, and that I didn't mispost in the wrong forum. If I did please excuse my newbieness. In advance, thank you to all the wonderful members on here for your honest opinions, it has helped. I'm just suffering from information overload, and could really use some assitance moving forward.

Ready to Vape,
ShoeQueen

I was/am in the same predicament as you. Don't have the money, but I want to quit smoking. I did hours of research and decided to go with the Janty Ego. It has a long battery life, fast recharge, and is easy to refill. I looked at some of the reviews; not one bad review so far. I would look into the egos if you want longer batter life. I know the ego XL has an even longer battery life. I believe there isn't a best ecig, it all depends on what fits you. Good luck!

Seems the most often recommended models are the ego /riva 510 models, or KR808,
both are good starter sets, simple, good vapor, easy to use and re-fill.

There's some easy to digest advice here:
The ECF Library
takes you through PVs step by step.

Some advice on choosing and what to avoid:

And if you've read enough that your eyes are bleeding, sit back relax and check out:

I did alot of research and found that the 510 does seem to be highly recomended for newbies..I found this forum AFTER I started and was glad I "happened" tp pick the right one lol.. Everyone has different things they want/need in an ecig so Im learning it really is a personal thing and all about finding your personal "vape style" :)
Overall Ive had a few frustrations so far but Im committed as Ive already spent my next months of analog money on supplies :)
Good luck to you..3 days in of no analogs vaping only and so far Im VERY happy!!

First you need to decide what you want and 2nd where to get it.The 2 places I have been suggesting are
#1 Vapor4Life,sells KR8s and everything they have is compatible and easy to choose and use.
#2 Liberty Flights,Has Ego/Riva type stuff at good prices.
Get extra liquid and cartos or atomizers depending which kit you choose. There are lots of places to shop.Just giving you 2 to check out the top 2 choices for newer members.

The Inferno-T is just the eGo Tank system (Volcano rebrands their ecigs).

That is definitely something to research and consider.

It takes the fuss out of filling cartridges.

Some vendors to get you started on your research:
Clouds of Vapor - $60.99 + 10% discount-bigbuyer (2 - 650mah batteries and 2 tank attys) is the best pricing on the tank kit, thus far...but he's out of stock.

Volcano - $74.99 + 10% discount-epuffdirect (1 - 650mah usb passthrough and a 1000mah battery and 1 tank atty). Plus, their blank tanks are $3.99/5pack and comes in different colors and the tank atty is only $11.99.

Heaven-gifts - $62.50

Tanks are easy to clean, the tank attys are easy to clean...all in all, the maintenance and learning curve is minimal on this system.

Hi ShoeQueen. Welcome.

In stead of saying that you are doing nothing wrong, I' say that you are doing everything just right ! :) This forum is all about helping out.
All vapers - however many abbreviations they can sling out, has been in your place. :)
I liked smoking too, and wasn't really prepared to give it up - but vaping gives you (all) the same satisfaction(s). Not to worry.

You will probably get a ton of suggestions from well meaning vapers by this. Not to dispair.
Decision is: Are you a light smoker, 0-10 a day, or a heavier smoker.

If light you may choose some of the "cigarette look-a-like" sets.
If heavyer you should go directly after larger sets.
Plenty of references in here to brands and suppliers (Vapors 4 Life have a high star).

Experience with an actual PV will get you so much further - and will take away most of your doubts.

Don't look at the price tag(s) too much. Vaping IS cheaper than analogs. And then you have all the other benefits for free.

Good luck!

I was hit by smoking everywhere too...it sucked. So you feel the wrath of the 150 bucks a pop..maybe less these days, as mine was over a year ago. Heres my thoughts for you...
If you both smoke, you will both need your own kits anyhow. Id almost recommend that one of you get a mega 510 kit with pcc, and the other get an ego kit. NOT the T, as its still new. Not enough ppl yet to walk you through those. Though I trust joye, I dont trust ANY product till 1000 ppl give great reviews after a solid months use.
Cignot.com has all of the above, and liquids as well. Once you get started, you will like it, and will buy more stuff...but if both of you get seperate kits that are interchangable in a sense, you can test both waters, and decide what you both like together and individually. Thats my 2 cents. If you need urls of exact product, message me once you have 5 posts and can do so. If you know your dollar amount you can afford, Ill make you a shopping list ;)

Ego or Riva.... definitely. For 2 people, you'll want 2 starter kits, and you can get 'em for cheap if you hunt a bit. Prices have been coming down lately. I'd suggest a Riva kit for each of you, and about 50ml of juice to start with. Get the juice in small bottles (samplers), lots of different flavors, and be prepared to make a second order soon, once you figure out what juice you like.

VaporJunction has Riva kits for $50... you might find them cheaper elsewhere.

BigChief is right on: Vicki at Cignot is La Bomba! Can't go wrong with Cignot.

We were in the same boat as you in the beginning of November. All the research takes a lot of time, and can be very overwhelming.

What we chose was to go with Ego kits. I searched and found at the time a sale going on, so I purchased the kits from them. I then found a good juice supplier and ordered juice from him. It all takes time finding the right suppliers for you. We can all suggest the suppliers that we think are the best, but it is all up to what you decide. :) Why I am not posting suppliers names is because I have recently switched and I am getting new juice in to try, also I don't know recently who might be having a sale on kits, but with valentines day coming around the corner I wouldn't be surprised if someone wasn't. :)

I will however say to not purchase your kits from the Mall. We have one here and he sells his kits at 100 to 200. He doesn't sell juice and from what I have heard their Pv's don't last very long. I bought our eGo kits for 40 a piece from a reputable supplier on here, so please make sure you shop around.

Since you guys are new to vaping make sure that you order two different nicotine levels of juice. Order a bit of a variety (tobaccos, a cream type, and a fruity,) just because you like to eat something won't mean that you will like vaping it. Everyone's taste buds are different. Especially when you first quit you will probably think that your juice tastes icky. Don't forget that it will take a couple of weeks or more for your taste buds to change. Also, a lot of juices need steep time. It can take a week to a month for a freshly made juice to mature. :) Try 5ml bottles, or if you choose a supplier that has 3ml bottles get them. Those are already pre-steeped and good right out of the box.

Yes, there will be quite a bit of money going out until you find your supplies, and juice that you like. After that it will be much cheaper to vape than smoke.

Make sure you get two extra atomizers per kit. I didn't order extra and dropped one down my sink. It was ruined and until I received a new one I was vaping on just one. Also, I suggest to order a couple of packs of cartomizers (they come in a pack of 5.) These you can fill and vape off of instead of having to drip, or refill the fluval so often. Depending on who you order from you will probably want to get a syringe and needle to fill the cartos. Some need filled that way, some don't. I myself am getting ready to try out some new ones that are coming in today. :)

Feel free to Pm me if you have questions about certain suppliers. I will help as best that I can and If I can't I will give a holler to others that know more information than I do. :)

I smoked 28 years and tried the various ways of quitting. Since the day I opened my eGo up, charged it, and filled it I haven't smoked an analog and neither has my partner.

Shoequeen,
I was SOOO where you are about a month ago.. the sea of information is mind boggling, and you read differnt reviews that are totally conflicting, because that WAS someones experience...I have spent a small fortune, with a ton of things that I was not happy with, and had so many people trying to help me,and bought their reccomendations only to think WHAT were they thinking..lol

For price on the basics, you can not beat Liberty Flights plus they have teh 20% off coupon, and you earn a small credit for doing reviews when you purchase..Customer service is A + I can call them and they answer the phone.. my ego charger fell apart, and Ty sent me a new one no questions asked.. Wasted juice, I have it in spades as does everyone.. If you have yahoo or skype etc, I would totally be happy to help you... in some way Im still a noob, but I have had some great help and already wasted a ton of money.. I think noobs in vaping almost need a mentor..lol or like a sponser... thats funny, but really its true!

Lol I have to agree with both having a specific mentor as well as the Liberty Flights discount. :) Oh and Liberty flights has a 6 month warranty on their egos. :)
