Hah! Love this thread. I remember one day a couple of years ago.. thinking to myself: hmmm I would quit smoking if I could have something that would still allow me to smoke but without tobacco. At the time this seemed unobtainable until I stumbled upon the reality of e-cigs/vaping. I don't even remember where! I went for it. It is completely wonderful. But non user friends shake their heads and look at my PV like its from outerspace. They live in fear and so we vapers are the 'bad' guys> Honestly sometimes I think they liked it better when I smoked tobacco - something they 'understood'. bleh!

I think a lot of rabid non-smokers enjoy having someone to look down on. No matter how screwed up their lives are they can say "At least I'm better than x. Look how much he/she smokes. Look at the money they waste and the trash they cause. Look how they pollute everyone's air. They smell bad. They smoke around their kids. They smoke near the doors of stores and force me to walk thru it. They are bad people and I'm a better person than they are because I don't do those things." Other than people who are overweight, smokers are about the only group that it's politically correct to look down on. Now we are switching to a healthier option without suffering for our sins. Without repenting for our sins -- which is even worse. We refuse to feel like bad people and unashamedly embrace this new lifestyle. Worse yet we're happy. Every person who switches to vaping is one person these people can no longer claim in their minds to be better than, and eventually they'll have to start examining their own lives. Most people don't want to examine their own lives, it's much easier to say "At least I'm better than him"

I'm so happy to be a 'freak' and smoke free!! Only on my fourth day but it's been so effortless and pleasurable that I'm thinking this is way too good to be true. Hahaha
I also always thought that someone needed to invent a 'harmless' cig but that it was impossible, and I think this is as close as it gets. I haven't done much research about the bad, if any, on the e cigs, and for now I rather be ignorant about it. This is keeping me away from smoking and that's all I want for now. I'm sure they can't be as bad as the real thing and they for sure do the trick.
So I'm very happy to be a freak if this is what it takes.

Ding Ding Ding. We have a winner.

Now we have to ask ourselves "Am I doing the same thing?"

It was the computer Atty Pops. Here is some more info to help you figure out my age.... I learned programming in Basic, my first computer game was ping pong, what I did for fun occasionally was get on a BBS and harass a young SYSOP (immensely easy for a female to do I must say), and I began designing websites on notepad LOL

Just assure us you didn't jump on the Betamax and 8-track tapes too, I don't want vaping to follow that road....LOL

(my first was a Trash-80 w/cassette deck)

I was watching something about the history of adult entertainment and they said a big part of the reason the Betamax failed, even though it was superior technology, was because the people who made it refused to let them put adult videos on the tapes. The adult film industry could only get access to the VHS technology and everyone who wanted to be able to watch adult videos at home had to buy VHS players. This accounted for such a large portion of the people buying video players that VHS won out on the market. Just another example of strange things you learn if you are stuck at home and watch way too much TV :).

.......But Stosh, Betamax WAS the superior technology, .....

Granted, if that always won, everyone posting on this thread would be using Netscape,
a Unix kernel on PC with a Z80 series processor made by Apple....... ROTFLOL

Wonder what the young'uns make of this talk??

geeks and freaks forever !!
