I still have one in the package, opened 2 for now, they really great when they work, beautiful vaping experience, but what good is it if it leaks, I obviously can't leave the house like this. I had a vision 3.5 leak all over my pocket yesterday but that was my fault because my kid was jumping on me and the cap came off in my pocket. Thats a controllable incident, this is just random leaking. Plus with the vendors taking the stance that the only warranty is DOA, 10 dollars a pop for a dud is too much. after the stone tank disaster(I just threw out 2 stone v1's that were supposed to have innards and one was defective from day 1), and now this, its hard to justify going with other than what is known to work. i been using the 3.5 L visions almost exclusively now and they don't leak, they just gurgle because of a crappy vent design which the 1.2 L don't have but then you fill those every 10 minutes.

That really sucks. I haven't refilled mine yet. Or, for that matter, even opened/unwrapped the other one. I'm conflicted. I really wanted to be able to use my ego-W pencaps to be able to clip it to my lanyard at work. I may just end up ordering more of the 2.5ml Vision tanks like Lord Davon suggested. They don't crack, like almost all of my 'Stardusts' have, and I couldn't use the pencap with those anyway.

I love these things, but have had a half dozen desk floods in less than a week...so the jury is out on whether I will reorder them. Hopefully they can figure out why they do this and address it. I would pay the $10 price without flinching if they can deal with the leaking thing. They work great other than the leaking. Look great and feel great, too.

I have already decided I won't be travelling or working in my company's office with these. Too risky. But I am going to keep using them at home and see how it goes.

is it the same one or all of them? I am going to test today and see if its just one of them leaking, at any rate, at 10 bucks a pop, if they are defective, they should be replaced IMHO.

I received mine Saturday ( yesterday )... My opinion is that this device is still too much in it's early phases of design. It isn't a bad concept, it is a poorly engineered one which has lead to inconsistant results as reported by the users here. If the bad reports were the exception instead of what appears to be the rule.. I'd call it a defect, at this point there appear to be alot of users reporting issues with a major leak as well as a tendance to dry hit unless you mod the design and remove some of the wick...

I've filled mine only 3 times, one of which all of it leaked out... mine also dry hits more often than not despite my trying to prime it between hits. From what I've read, I can thin the wick down and trim it to address the dry hit issue. The dry hits are less frequent on 3.3v than they are on 3.7v or 4v. I don't have anything that goes higher than 4v, but it would appear that voltages higher than 4.2v aren't being reported as working well. I'm using different flavors of 80/20 pg/vg eliquid from Highbrow Vapor...

When this works... it works well and it has the cleanest taste of anything I've tried to date. I'll certainly keep an eye on this thread for any mods that may help with the leak issue and I'm going to mod the wick on the unit I have... I will not purchase any more units until the issues that have been reported has been addressed properly. I will always feel that something should work out of the box at the specs it was designed for without any need for modification... Put another way, this unit should work flawlessly at 3.3v without leaks or dry hits.

The construction of this, aside from the design flaws mentioned, is very solid and it is a very attractive unit... but until the functional issues can be addressed... I'll pass.

Randy,

That is a well thought out, and nicely worded post.

I ordered a bunch of these, and have only had one leak out on me. It was because I didn't fill it upside-down. After reading the posts here, I am hearing that these are mostly leaking out on people after the first fill. Now, I have always pulled them apart after each fill, and cleaned them out, but that isn't a solution for most people. This, most likely releases any pressure. So, I've decided to play, and see what I can find out. I remember someone saying that they pulled the pressure from theirs, by drawing out air from theirs. That's where I am going to start.

No leaks on mine, it's behaving well.

But does anyone have a tip on how to easily line up the little nipple on the plug with the fill hole. Thats the only part I'm struggling with.

In my review, I talk about making sure both the unit's hole, and the plug are both exactly at the bottom of each. Then turning it slightly to get it in place.

Maybe what we needs is to have people who are Filling and getting No Leaking, to post How they are doing the filling.

I also wonder if Leaking can be Linked to Thin, PG e-Liquid or if it is Across the Board e-Liquid wise?

I think there is some coomon cuase which make these things Leak for Some People and Not For Others.

can't be linked to thin liquid, I am using 50/50 and it leaks out like nothing. I filled it normally the first time, just like I would fill a vision with a syringe, I ended up getting some liquid leaking out while doing the first cart, but that was more like flooding like a sapphire would do. then i filled it as suggested. upside down. I filled all the way fully so there were no air bubbles as bad said. that time it leaked the whole cart out when i left it sitting with the battery upright. Then I have been filling upside down but not all the way so there is some air in it. Doing it like this has yielded better results, but still last night I smoked half of it, got up to go the bathroom and it leaked all out.

Maybe what we needs is to have people who are Filling and getting No Leaking, to post How they are doing the filling.

I bought two, both have leaked even filling upside down. Although they seem to leak less often if filled upside down. And I see no clear pattern, except they never leak when I am actually using them...but sometimes within 5 minutes of setting them down.

Also all my juices are a minimum 30% VG, so I don't think the juices are too thin.

I did add a little distilled water to 100% VG juice to thin it when I was getting a burnt taste, and that seemed to solve that problem.

Using a high pg juice, so I doubt thats it.

Things I'm doing: I make sure there is no air in the syringe or needle. I fill it pretty slowly and upside down. When I reach the point I can't see if it is full or not, I flip it with the needle still attached for a second to check my air bubble, flip it back over and complete the fill. And this last is pretty crucial based on previous experiments with other products, I make for danged sure that my bent holes are NOT occluded by where I'm holding it when filling.

Don't know if that helps but thats what I'm doing.

Thanks burns_erin.

Sometimes getting to the Bottm of a Problem is finding Commonality.

If someone who is having a problem with leaking used someone elses Filling technique and the Leaking went away, then it could be more of a Filling Issue than a Design Issue or a Leaking Seal.

considering how they are leaking, it seems they are basically doing the same thing the sapphires do, if they get flooded at the bottom, they start leaking, this carto just seems to take it to the extreme.

I just want to chime in here, I got a few C8's yesterday and after reading a few reviews i was kinda bummed but am happy to say that i filled one up just as the video shows on GV, held on its side and filled with plastic bottle with tip let it wick a min and awww so good.

I am on the third fill now and not one leak, draw is light and tons of vapor, using outlaw 555 70/30. I have left it standing and laying down with no prob at all. sorry to hear other are having issues

edit to say that i did not bother to make sure it was completely full, if you over fill it will blow out thru the seal.
