From what I can gather, this is an initiative put together by RipTrippers. Despite the fact that it was well-meaning, Rip consulted with CASAA prior to rolling out the website and they advised against it (since people have a low tolerance for form letters and they wanted form submissions to be complete and scientifically based). It may be doing more harm than good. At this time, it appears as though this is probably NOT an effective vehicle through which to submit your proposals to the FDA. Until further guidance is issued by CASAA or SFATA - I am staying away from it - I recommend you do the same.

I wouldn't think so, we're all stumbling around trying to do what's best for our interests, there is bound to be some missteps along the way. Don't worry Sue, we need to be careful to stay united against this threat, not to start blaming each other if we didn't do something just right.

Yes, there is a form section so maybe its is not the best tool we have, but there is also a section to provide links to sources of empirical data/studies, as well as a section for your own life experience w/ vaping and opinions on it, and so it is a tool none-the-less. We need all the tools we can get IMO. I get that it may be better to hand-write notes to the FDA and your representatives, to call speak to them yourself personally, but sooooo many people just aren't going to do that. I'm sorry but if there is a tool/resource that allows people to get involved who might not otherwise do so, then I am all for it regardless of what CASAA has to say about it. We need as many people to get involved as possible, and we should take the help however we can get it from whoever we can get it.

I can see that we are on the same side of the bigger issue, and I can see that you have altruistic intentions so I have nothing negative to say to you, but instead a sincere thank you for willing to be involved and willing to make a difference where possible.

I think the effort was well-meaning, I really do. I respect RipTrippers and the vendors who got behind it. The issues I see is that no where on the the site does it say (specifically) what words he intends to "put in our mouths" (so to speak). There's also no privacy policy on that page... California law requires a privacy policy on every website that collects data like that... a one liner about how your information will never be shared doesn't really suffice. CASAA has good reasoning for delaying submissions... the timing is bad. The last thing we want to do is give ANTZ sufficient time to pick our submissions apart. I dunno - I'm not passing judgement on the whole thing, I'm just saying - until CASAA or SFATA issues a statement, it seems as though this effort contributes the fractioning that we are trying to avoid.

Going into anything half-cocked has hardly worked out in my experiences. I'm going to side with CASAA on this. Not to mention, not really wanting my personal info scattered out there in the ether (even more than it is) because I decided to input it on an unsecure site that could be hacked or have my statements altered. Ive learned a few thing from RipTrippers videos. Hes obviously dedicated to the craft. Dont get me wrong, Im beard-strong as well lol, but I gotta say, his in your face 'style' might be off-putting to the suits, if ya know what I mean lol. But it seems he just wants to be a middleman to pass along our letters to the appropriate people? I havent read through the whole site yet. It might provide some people an outlet to do that who might otherwise not know how to go about it.
