Was walking behind a guy yesterday. He lit up a cigarette and it smelled wonderful to me. Freshly-lit cigs always have. Brought me back to when I was a kid...the aroma of my father's freshly lit Bensons.

Though it smelled great, strangely it didn't make me want to smoke one.

But I can't handle being in a 'smoking room' anymore. Was at my accountants office the other day. Though he wasn't smoking when I walked in, the first thing that hit me was the ashtray on his desk. I mean, it smelled horrible. After a few minutes in the room, the lingering stale smoke odor started to hit me too. Hard to imagine now that I willingly spent the majority of my life in exactly the same environment.

Just happy at this moment that I finally kicked all that filth to the curb. Viva vaping!

when I was a smoker I loved it..now bleh!

smell/food memories live in the hypocampus "deeper" so it took you back to your dad, they're (food/smell) like a reinforcer of the memory if you will..it's understandable, I smell modeling clay and I'm right there with my dad throwing on the wheel as kiddo (he's a potter)

way to stand strong Jambi.

Actually, I have gained a lot in the area of Smell and Taste in the (2+)yrs. since I Quit Smoking but oddly enough I rarely notice the Lit Cig smell.
However, I have always hated the Ashtray Smell, even when I was smoking over 2 packs a day.
It is strange but I guess I can take it as a blessing since a couple of my kids have not stopped yet and I enjoy time with them.
