Hi I'm new to vaping and have tried Blu cuz they're available at walgreens and I've been thinking of moving up to something that has better battery life and gives better vapor/TH. I only vape VG and have been refilling the blu's but I was thinking of a tank system like the Ego-C. Cartomizers seem to be the way to go for lots of people but one of the reasons I want to ditch blu is because of all these cartomizers laying around. Can anyone tell me if the vaping experience is going to be worse or better with a system like the Ego-C? Blu is all I ever vaped but I want to buy the right system for me. I'd like to be able to fill the tank and forget about it. I'm sure the atomizer doesn't last forever and I'll need to replace those ( I think the starter kit comes with 5) so I dont know which is worse - replacing attys or cartomizers. WHich last longer? If I'm going to have a collection of atomizers that I might consider a cartomizer based system.

Just about every model that will be recommended here will be way better than the Blu. Instead of the Ego, however, I would look at the Kgo, E-Power 510 or the Riva. They are all 3.7 volts whereas the ego is only 3.4 volts. The E-Power even comes in a 5 volt version now. The batteries in all of these three come standard with much higher mAh ratings than the ego, as they are all 1000+ mAh and the ego standard battery is only 650 mAh. You should get 5 - 6 hours on a charge. The E-Power batteries are way less expensive than the egos, as they cost $4.00 each where as the ego's cost around $15 each. Here are some well supported suppliers:

I agree that almost anything will be better than the Blu. I recommend the Riva from Liberty-Flights....$29.95 with the 20% off button (top left of the home page)....but in the meantime...did you know you can refill those cartridges sitting all over the place? That's something Blu doesn't tell you. Buy you a bottle of juice from any of our juice vendors, pop the top off with a paperclip, and saturate the filler. It's a shame to waste them and not even know that. They can each be refilled quite a few times (10??) before they're bad. That'll hold you over until you can get a better kit. Good luck.

Yeah, I'm already refilling the Blu cartomizers. I wasn't aware that you can tank cartos. Thats good news. If I go with the Ego-C or T, what would I need to buy to get a carto/tank configuration?

Right now I'm filling my used blu carts with VG from Johnson Creek and the vapor is amazing. Its almost like the first hit from a new blu cart but lasts much much longer and the taste is way more consistent. I'm looking to upgrade since one of my batteries is not really holding a charge that well and it only lasts for about as long as it takes the good battery to charge. Anyway, was wondering if the tank/atty system is going to give a better or worse experience than a cartomizer setup. Thats my only concern. There's tons of things to choose from. While we're on the subject, are there any reputable American made 100% VG juices out there aside from Johnson Creek? They only have like 10 flavors in VG.

eGo T's are what worked for me after trying everything else. I'll probably try the C's eventually, but I've had great luck with ego-t atty's -- been using the same 2 for 4 months and they're both still going strong.

The convenience factor is probably what really allowed me to quit cigs for good. It got annoying spinning carto's, or filling them with syringes. I'm in sales, and was often super-busy or running out the door, and just couldn't be bothered with all the maintenance on-the-go with cartos... keeping tabs on which ones were full and which needed filling, etc.

With the eGo T, even if I'm in a hurry, I can fill the tank in 15 seconds and be out the door. I use the transparent tanks so easy to check the fill-level. Paired with a 1000mah battery, a full tank and full charge will last me all day. Have one primary tank and atty that I use day-to-day, and another tank/atty that I keep filled for backup. Easy-peasy.

I have I use a large-gauage needle to fill the tank.... I just pour the juice in the syringe, but don't need the syringe plunger b/c gravity feeds it into the tank with the large gauge needle. With smaller needles, gravity won't pull the juice, and the rubber on the plunger eventually started to break down so I had to keep a fairly constant supply of syringes -- another PITA.

So you get my vote for eGo T or C. Good luck!

Welcome the the ECF nuggetz. The kits that have been suggested are great to get a "feel" for what vaping is really all about. The Madvapes tank works well and is not expensive. I have six of those and 3 Chibi tanks from Parkes Vaping. The Chibi is a "grommet" type tank while the Madvapes is a cap/o-ring style.

...you can even tank a Blu set up while waiting on your new gear. I Frankensteined my way through with a syringe, sharp serrated knife, small nail and hammer.

Thanks for the info ColKurtz and everyone else who's chimed in. How do you guys keep track of all these parts? I've done my share of reading and know what most things are but it sounds like people spend most of their time waiting for the UPS truck to show up with all the crap that their ordering from all these different vendors :) I just want a nice system that performs well and is compatible with all the little trinkets and pieces that you guys are recommending and using in case I seriously start tinkering on the equipment side and need good replacement parts. I kinda wanna make a good purchase the first time around - actually 2nd - the blu kit is a piece of junk. If the Ego systems are good I might just try those.

I think you have seen a number of people who already recommended the Kgo, Riva and E-Power as a little better options in the same size/category as the ego. And they are compatable with everything you would use on the ego.

Are you saying those are a little better than Blu or better than Ego?

It's the USPS that everyone stalks. Brown doesn't do anything for vapers. ;)

Nothing wrong with the original Joye eGo. Just keep in mind that it runs at a lower regulated voltage (3.3V) than would a Riva or E-Power(3.7V), or a KGO(~4V), so you will need to compensate with lower resistance attys and cartos.

100% better than the Blu. But, yes, I think they are better than the ego. They are 3.7 volt models and ego is only 3.4 volts. They come with 1000+ mAh batteries standard. The ego's standard battery is only 650 mAh. And the E-Power will save you a good bit of money on batteries alone. So, yes, I think they are better. Nothing wrong with the ego, there are just better options in the same category, IMO and obviously from some of the other posts, others feel the same way.

Your thread reminds me alot of one that I started about 3wks ago. I was really sold on the EGO-C (I thought the whole tank thing was incredible), and I was a Blu user at that time. Luckily I listened to the advice that a lot of people gave me on here and purchased the KGO from Hoosier E Cig Supply. Up to that point I hadnt event heard of the KGO, but after much research it became pretty clear that this was going to be a good investment (especially at $43.99)!

I have had this thing for exactly a week and I couldn't be happier. It is so nice to not have to charge batteries all day long. I had 3 batteries with my Blu and constantly had issues with them. They never charged right and when they did, they died so fast.

I also am a big fan of JC and purchased some of their Red Oak (VG) juices. I have been using a dual coil cartomizer on this KGO ,with those juices and I am blowing huge clouds of vapor. It works well with just the regular BOGE LR cartomizers too. Trust me this thing was worth every penny.

Good Luck!
