Hello,

I am a recent convert to vaping and have so far managed to go 2 weeks without tobacco :) my first foray into vaping involved a very cheap e-cig and the results were not good but i decided to try a different approach and after much forum browsing decided to try a Riva 510 / DSE901 and KR808D-1 , of those i liked the 901 best due to the flavour production, the 808 was a very close second due mainly to the fact that it lasts for most of the day on one battery and carto the 510 was something of an "also ran" for me.

So my daily vape for use at work was sorted (901 atty on 808 battery) now i needed something with much more staying power for home use.

I tried a USB passthrough and it works well while i am at my PC but the lack of portability is an issue, much forum searching and video review watching later i decided on a GGTS with AVS...

First impression out of the box was one of pure disappointment in fact i very nearly packed it up and sent it back, it looked like a cheap copy of the ones i had seen in video reviews  i didn't realise mine was a V2 and the reviews i had seen where of the V1 but even if i had i would have felt the same.

It did not look like it was worth even a fraction of what it cost me, and as i lifted it from its packaging (with a long heartfelt groan) it felt even cheaper still.
But i decided to give it a try... having read quite a bit about this PV i was expecting to have to play around with it to get it working but i didn't find that to be the case, after putting in a freshly charged 18650 and screwing in a 901 atty, filling the tank and screwing everything down it worked! and it kept on working and whats more it works brilliantly.

Flavour is absolutely exceptional with the 901 atty and with a LR atty i think the flavour is even better!.
Battery life with an 18650 is fantastic, i get perhaps 2 days of use before needing to swap the battery and i top up the tank at about the same time.

I have had absolutely no problems with this what so ever, when i push the button and inhale i get a large volume of tasty vapour each and every time and that for me is the most important factor IT WORKS! did i get good value for money? nope i don't think i did but so far it works flawlessly and due to its simple mechanical design i am confident that it will go on working and if i have any problems they should be easily remedied with assistance from the helpful folks on this and other forums.

Bottom line, it is not the best value for money but damn it works like a demon :vapor::evil:

Bristow, Ok.
I remember a woman that bought a GG long before the AVS was ever thought about. She wasn't happy with her GG because it didn't have enough parts. It was made too simple to suite her. That was what I loved about mine. The genius of the simplicity. I also remember Imeo being told it would never work because it was too simple. I still love my GGs. I can take them completely apart and clean and do any necessary repairs all by myself. I put in new O rings last night. I am an old woman and I can do anything that needs to be done to keep my GG good as new.

Ways,
Thanks for sharing your story, I am happy that ya stumbled onto the GG..... Because it is the greatest line of PV's ..... with prolly the best support network if ya need feedback or have a issue.

I love hearing storys like this, because I was in the same boat a year or two ago...... The cheap china ecigs just eventually start to discourage you and ya start to think it would be smarter to just go back to analog cigarettes. Luckily I stuck with it, and found Imeo and GG.... like yourself.

I hope ya enjoy your GG, and let us know if ya have any issues or problems, there is always someone here to help...

Hi Ways, I am very glad that GG totally satisfied you :)

About price, you can check that almost all mods out there costs a little less or a little more money than GG and they have the 1/10 features that GG has. I think its price is really low buddy. You will notice that after some days of use. I think you dont have other mods because if you had spend money for other mods you would be able to see what you just bought. I think you are lucky that you start with the best buddy.

The support here is more than good and as Tim said you can always count on GG people, on GG sellers and on me for ever.

I only WISH that I had been so lucky!!! I would have literally saved well over $1,000.00...

To be quite frank, you get what you pay for and in the end you have paid a small price for the best damn E-Cig in the world. Here in the US, we would use the term, "This is the Cadillac of PV's and everything else is a Yugo" Lets review what you get for the price that is in the box and what is not in the box....

In the box:

1.) You get by far, the best engineered and manufactured E-Cig out there.

2.) One that is designed and manufactured by our friend Imeo with our wants and needs taken into consideration.

3.) A Product which is constantly evolving when new ideas come. Not just a design once and then mass produce to recover the cost of R&D, Testing and initial production.

(I know, that does not sound like much for the price, So, might I suggest you move on down to the second part about what you get that is not in the box)

Not in the box but included with the product:

1.) The best E-Cig Support system available period.... which includes Every Single person on this forum and everyone of his resellers.

2.) The only PV manufacturer that has "hands down", the most comprehensive, user developed and supported Wiki on the entire GG product line.
Golden Greek - E-Cigarette Wiki

3.) A manufacturer that actually listens to their customers when it comes to product design, product improvement and new product design.

4.) Most importantly, you get a Lifetime Warranty on your product.....how many of the less expensive E-Cig manufacturers offer that.

Yes, there are some cheaper completely mechanical PV's out there, but had it not been for Imeo's investment in time and his ingenuity. those PV's would not exist as it all happened here first. That being said, yes they can offer them for a lessor price because they did not have to investment the time in full engineering of the product as the basic idea for it was already done.

Lol, if Imeo's mind were to all of a sudden stop thinking about what to make next or what to improve on. The planet's rotation would shift on it's axis due to the change in momentum. I know, I know, that seems a bit exaggerated. But it is symbolic of how much he loves his products and and his customers......

Thank's Tim, one of the deciding factors for me was the forum activity surrounding the GG.

Thank's Imeo, If i had bought a V1 which is what i had seen in reviews and what i had read about i probably would not have even commented on price and if i am honest the price is reflected in the performance and my opinion on value for money was possibly coloured by negative posts i have read concerning the V2 and let me assure you i appreciate the work that you have put in and more importantly i appreciate the end result, lovely tasty clouds of vapour on demand each and every time. Thank you :)

Ouch! well i consider myself double lucky then i am saving my health and saving money ;)

Cheers Zoranth, I was not looking to debate perceived value for money for that is of course a deeply personal thing and i was and am well aware of what came in the box and not in the box but included with the product :) (nice way of looking at it) however... im not sure about the US but Cadillac in the UK are not considered top of the line or particularly desirable unless you are talking "Escalade" with spinners and tinted glass, now that is some seriously gansta wheels :D and Yugo well yeah ok point taken but wouldn't a Dodge Viper V Ford Cortina be a better comparison? im just messing of course, as im English i would have to say the GG is a TVR and a cheap chinese e-cig is another Ford Cortina

I'll leave you with a saying that i am particularly fond of and i think is relevant here, "The sweetness of low price soon fades while the bitterness of poor quality long remains"

Thanks for your kind words all, im off to sit in front of the TV with my GGTS, when i was a smoker i had to go out to my workshed to smoke and generally spent a couple of hours per evening out there, i can't tell you how good it feels to be able to watch TV with my wife and not have her complain that i smell like an ashtray :D

Take care

Hi Ways,

Like you I graduated from KR808s straight to the GGTS/AVS. Was it expensive? You bet! At least that what I thought when I first bought it.

However, after using it every single day from morning till night (I vape at my desk in the office) since the day it was delivered, I found it's price to be not only reasonable, but also economical: At around $17.00 dollars a pop, when used 12 hours a day, the cost of replacement KR808 batteries can add up rather quickly.

The (100%) stellar performance and reliabilty I have enjoyed so far are just "icing on the cake", a far cry from the experiences I had with several KR808 batteries... I hope you continue enjoying your GG (as much as I enjoy mine)...

Never sure if you're happy or sad but I hope the former :)

Definitely the former :)

I still use 808's sometimes, but mainly while out and about or at work i use a 901 atty on an 808 mega battery and yes the costs do mount, but that will change soon as i have a GGTB on order and that will become my new travelling companion.

Just to clarify, i am not a GG fanboy nor am i a GG hater, my comments where based on my initial out of the box impressions comparing my expectations on fit and finish to what i received NOT comparing form and function which is why the post was titled "from Disappointment to Delight" , as i was initially disappointed (out of box fit and finish) and then delighted (when i had experienced it in use, form and function) and i really like the styling it has a kind of industrial revolution look to it which i will be customising for a steam punk esque look :)

Take care.

Finish of GGTS was not in exellent contition Ways?

Imeo, "fit and finish" is a phrase to describe the general look and feel of an item i was not specifically singling out the finish as a bad point the finish was acceptable the few small surface scratches did add to my initial disappointment but where easily polished out, perhaps i should have been more precise with my wording to avoid misunderstandings.

I didn't go into any great detail about what caused my disappointment so i will do so now.

The fit (threads) could have been better out of the box as all threads felt somewhat rough and in particular the thread of the control ring felt like it had a ratchet mechanism in it (very gritty feel) a little work with a wire brush, some lube and lots of screwing it on and off and it is now quite smooth to operate. Was mine a one off that slipped past quality control? i certainly hope so.

Gritty feeling threads are not something i would expect on a non mass manufactured item in this price range, as a comparison i have several cheaply made flashlights which had gritty feeling threads out of the box and for the low price i paid for them it is something i expect and am happy to rectify, i also have several expensive flashlights from small volume manufacturers one of which cost just about the same as the GGTS and was made by a man possibly in similar circumstances to yourself (ie not a large manufacturing company rather one man with a vision) and the threads where as smooth as silk out of the box, that is what i expect from a product in this price range and going by reviews of your V1 GG that is what i had expected from my V2 GGTS.

That said i am more than happy with the function of the GGTS and AVS it works as intended and i am particularly impressed by the design, styling and function and am happy enough that i have ordered a GGTB to use while out and about and at work and i will have no worries about buying your products in the future, i am particulary looking forward to an AVS for the GGTB

So the bottom line is :- i am happy with the GGTS & AVS it works flawlessly and knowing what i know now i would buy it again without hesitation.

Can we draw a line under this now? :)

Take care.

Aluminium can have a very good shiny surface but its not like brass. Brass can have a really mirror shine. The shiny proccedure that I make is the best that anyone can do on aluminium surface Ways

Threads are a little hard at the start because if they are loosy when GG is new then they will get damaged soon. Better to have hard threads at the start than having loosy ones. GG is used every single min during the day but e.g. torches are used very rare. Also threads comes really smooth after some days of use because they find the right place between them by screwing and unscrewing GG.

I dont argue with you Ways, I am just trying to explain some things because people have to know what they buy and why GG is made like this. I am also happy that you really liked GG mate:)
