Been happily chugging along with my Provari + Peakomizer/Davide with Liqua liquid for more than year until....I was introduced to sub-ohm setups!

OMG. Sigelei 30W, eleaf 50W + Subtank Mini with premium juices (read more expensive than Liqua). Can't go back to the Vari now. Why bother? Two mods + tanks + juices cost less than my Provari.

2 weeks into this malarkey, and I stuff the Subtank with a 1.2ohm coil into the Vari, topped out at 14.7W and even that was a huge improvement over the what I was vaping before.

I guess I got too comfortable with the Vari as a cessation device and never bothered to venture into other setups. It works, everytime, all the time but it's just not good enough anymore. It's been fun, but goodbye Provari, until they come out with something better than 20W........

Congratulations. When it comes to vaping, it's always a journey to find your perfect fit. The price or status symbol is irrelevant.

The fanboys must all still be asleep.

What is the difference? I would like more info on a decent affordable setup in sub ohm. But I don't know the difference between the regular and sub-ohm. Where do I begin?

in my opinion, you need at least 40 watts to be able to 'experience' subohm vaping. the draws are warmer and shorter, and you get more vapor vaping, kind of like a better ratio of 'time of draw'/'vapor produced'. or if youre feeling frisky, 100w+ regulated mod with an RDA, closest draw ive gotten to a cigarette, 2-3 second drag with tons of vapor and warmth similar to a cigarette.

sub ohm means basically anything under 1.0 resistance.

I am using Provari 2,5 mini and two P3. I love them. These are so reliable and give excellent pure DC voltage to the RDA and other atomizers. They perform excellent and there is now wear of use. The VS RDNA 40 is not reliable due to display issues and higher voltage ups and downs..and also due to paint wear. The same paint issues happened to my Yihi SX Mini M class..that I am using for 3 weeks and looks like to use it 5 years or more...

I prefer the flavor than the clouds so I could live with P3s and enjoy their reliability and rolex like finish and durability.

It is not cheep but if we think how much money we were paying for cigarets ....Cheep is not always the best quality.
The above mentioned TC mods of 200 usd have serious paint problems if you ....use them...They have the interesting TC boards inside. But out side are too low quality for 2 weeks use...

I am not fanatic to brands, but reliability and durability count a lot for me. I want my mods to look new and not ..like to be 5 or more years old in 3 weeks of use.

If flavor is your thing, you need to try temp control. It is beyond amazing when it comes to flavor enhancement. As far as spending 200 bucks on a mod and wanting it to look new...There are PLENTY of new devices that out shine the Provari in every single way at that pricepoint.

I look at the Provari Illuminati as a bunch of people that have '80's Buicks in their garage that are all shiney and look new. Ya, they still function, but get with the times. I'll take my Corvette of a mod and go toe to toe in flavor, and clouds to any Provari and walk it.

I love these threads. :pop:

I'm a Tootle Puffer (low watts/higher ohms) by most accounts. I prefer a cooler vape to a warmer one. I vape under 10 watts. For nearly 3 years I've used a Provari 2.5 with either a cartotank (2 - 3 ohms) or a Kayfun rebuildable tank atomizer (1.5 ohm). I never in my life thought that I'd ever sub-ohm.

I had dabbled into sub-ohm territory with a Genesis-style rebuildable tank on one of my mechanicals, but it wasn't for me. In hindsight, that probably had more to do with the Genesis tank than sub-ohm coils. After that, I began working in a vape shop where just about everyone built coils and sub-ohmed. I purchased a RDA and gradually worked my way down to 0.6 ohms. That's about my limit, as any lower is just too warm of a vape for me.

I received a Provari P3 about a month ago and generally use the 1.5 ohm Kayfun on it. However, my P3 has the firmware update and it will fire my 0.6 ohm dual coil RDA with ease.

So, I still love using my Provari's, but also love using my mech with subohms. I enjoy both, and use which ever one my mood desires.

To the original poster, I'm glad that you have found what works for you. That's what its all about.
