"Electronic cigarettes deeply offend the great moon god Ta'lab, who resides invisibly on the earth's moon (which everyone knows is the physical center of the universe, around which the earth, sun, and all else revolve). It is an indisputable fact that anyone who vapes or even thinks of vaping will most certainly contract the dreaded deadly moon cancer."
Dr Mariam Al Jalahma went on to say that her department's scientific research team had reached many other conclusions of equal importance & indisputability.
"For example, it is a myth that water is wet. That is not true...water is a very dry substance, and its use as a hydrating agent should not be encouraged." Amongst her team's findings: hamburgers eat people - wearing denim leads to hysterectomies - and electrified sand (as opposed to common sand) is a rich edible source of calcium, vitamin E, numerous antioxidants...& a powerful preventative against moon cancer. (
"Don't tell Ta'lab about that one!" she said with a chuckle.)

Up is down, black is white - well put,
PoliticallyIncorrect. Though I don't think this is a real concern for anyone (except for the good people unfortunate enough to be stuck in Bahrain). Bahrain is a country where people hanging their underwear to dry on laundry lines is a political issue...seriously, that's an actual issue there. If people like this doctor want to embrace quackery (as she is clearly already doing with gusto), then they will. But such nonsensical statements as she made about vaping are so easily,
provably false that I don't see how she could expect to be taken seriously.
In fact upon re-reading the article...I think this may be a case of this woman genuinely having no idea what she's talking about, rather than knowingly lying. Like she may mean well (she knocks tobacco too, after all)...but she apparently lacks the training to differentiate between nicotine and tobacco (!!!). Um,
huuuuge difference. I don't see how any doctor can fail to comprehend the universe of difference between the effects of nicotine and the effects of tobacco smoking. Certainly she would never be willing (or able) to scientifically back up her views, which just get crazier as she goes on. I mean what on earth does having an abortion have to do with vaping? Even the most ardent anti-vaper would laugh out loud at such a fundamentally ridiculous statement.
At any rate, whether it's (astounding) ignorance or an agenda to blame for this article...vapers in Bahrain have their work cut out for them. If the medical officials there are prepared to base their opposition to vaping on sloppy insinuations & outright falsehoods that wouldn't deceive Forrest Gump on his slowest day - in the long run that will only help the local vapers' case. All the best from us at ECF.
