Somewhere out there
For 2 weeks I was so obsessed with how good vaping is and now I can't taste it at all:( I can taste food/drink though  2 weeks without an analog and for the first time since quitting I want one. I need to get my taste back before I give in :(

Same thing happened to me around week 2-3, but then I got into DIY and new flavors and WOW what a life saver that was. I now mix my flavors with some of my old faves and a new experience! It saved me and I am so glad I did try new flavors and DIY. Maybe it will help you too. bnrk

We all hit this wall sometime.

Try to change your flavor, try menthol/mint, drink a lot of water.

I drink tons of water normally and since I started vaping I think I drink too much! I hit the bathroom once an hour LOL Today is day 2 without taste so if it isn't back tomorrow I will head over to the local brick & mortar juice store to try and find one that I can taste.

First of all - remember to smell the vapor. Ecigs don't dump smoke all over you like cigs or emit aroma as brought to your mouth like food. You have to remember to smell it. And blow your nose if your nose is stuffed. Your tongue can only taste sweet, salty, bitter, sour and umami (MSG).

Things that can prevent tasting/smelling

Other flavors in your mouth, other aromas around
Wind or fan blowing the vapor away
Vaping a juice with none of the flavors I listed above (then it is all aroma)
Using an old/singed/grungy atty, cart or carto (singe will erase sweet for sure)
Drinking alcohol or hot beverages
Making your tongue sore/numb by vaping excessive nic or medium or high nic in 100% PG
Vaping the same flavor over and over and over

What I used to do - I would carry one main tobacco flavor and 2 other flavors to change the tobacco with - I would usually add vanilla or caramel (in the form of sweet RY4 orYental 4) or chocolate/cocoa (not weird - most popular US cigs have cocoa in them). That let me change the tobacco's flavor whenever I was bored.

What I do now - I carry 2 ecigs, each with a carto, and the two have contrasting flavors and each refreshes my tastebuds for the other.

this might sound dumb, but do you leave your carto, cart or whatever you're using open to the elements for hours? being that the aroma portion of a liquid is the first one to evaporate away, it might also do the same for the flavorings? try a new fresh dose from the bottle. But actually even the bottle after some time will lose its pizaz. Being that steeping can have such a noticeable effect of juices , it wouldn't be a far stretch to imagine that excessive steeping can begin to have negative effects on the mixture.

As side note, the bigger the bottle you keep your liquids the more air is eventually left in the bottle that interacts with the remaining juice. So every time you open that bottle up it mixes in with the air outside and you lose that special something. New air gets into the bottle and that air pocket goes to work with mixing and extracting the goodies from the liquid, repeating the entire process. Just think about it, if you can smell it that means particles are released into the air, and depending on the evaporation rate of the flavorings, there could be something similar happening.

The best thing you could do, is to try and keep your liquid it a container that allows very little extra air to mix in. Hehe, ultimately you'd want your liquid in an air tight ziplock bag
Just another point of view.

I sometimes rotate flavors several times a day just to keep it interesting.
Got a bottle of Butterscotch last month, like inhaling straight melted butter to me. not happy at all. Set it aside.
Today I tried adding a few drops to my regular tobacco flavor in my cartomizer (4 drops tobacco 2 drops butter, repeat til full)
Came out pretty darn good! Still doesn't taste butterscotch but I like it.

Yeah, this is something may if not most new vapers go through at some point, usually early on, but it can also recur. Your tastebuds are changing -- springing back to life, really, but they can become easily fatigued with vaping at the outset, so you will go through periods of not being able to taste anything. I went through the exact same thing and also posted here about. My juices tasted like nothing. Literally, nothing. Like vaping water. It took some time but it did come back. Vaping different flavours, stronger flavours, helped a lot.

I used to use strong flavors like cinnamon or clove when ths would happen to me and drink a big glass of lemon water to cleanse your palate

I just found this on a google search
Taste Bud Fun Facts

The average person has about 10,000 taste buds and they are replaced every two weeks. However, as a person ages, the taste buds get replaced less often so an older person may only have 5,000 working buds.

I just wanted to simply add that when I first started it happened to me too. After about a week I was a mope. Where is my flavor? Where did my deliciousness go?? Don't worry! It will be back!! Those tastebuds are just a bit tired of constant use/healing too. As others have said, a strong flavor like menthol should work right now. Some vendors have excellent fruit menthol mixes, like mister e. http://www.mister-e-liquid.com/the-ice-collectoin/

I really really want more of his grape ice. Its like.... kool aid tart sweet tartish grape and that kapow menthol.. but after this next order I make for juice because of my screw up, i need to stop for a while and use up some of what I have before i buy more juice already!! I can dream can't i.

I've got quite a few flavours right now, and paln on stocking up on a ton more, but I have to admit, durian is not a flavour I can get over here, and weirdly enough I've always been curious to try it. They have frozen durian at a local exotic supermarket but I've been to afraid to try due to the perpetually repeated mentions of its ... pungent smell. I mean, the fact that it's banned in many Malaysian hotels must seriously say something about that aspect.

I'm always worried about the downsides of vaping such as this, not so much for myself, but for people i introduce to it when they reach an issue such as this, yes, Vaping is more work than smoking, someone could argue, why should I have to carry around 2 bottles a day just so i can freaking taste something, why do i have to do all this work and carry around 3 different tobaccos, i wont be able to taste for several days and blah blah blah...simple answer, because you dont wake up in the morning and cough up green flem! seems like a decent trade off.
