I have been vapeing 3yrs now also and i change flavors every few days just to keep that from happening i use ry4 maybe a week then switch to grape a few days then flue cured then 555 just change it up and i have not had and analog cig for 3yrs now. I think alot of it is just forming a new habit when you first start vapeing.Just dont give in and let yourself smoke a real cig after a while when you start smelling and tasteing things from not smoking your taste will change even more atleast mine did.

Love this forum :) Thanks for all the support and advice!
It's a relief to read this thread. I have used 2 different attys and cartos. I was wondering why people liked cartomizers so much. I found it lacked taste. Hope this changes too!

Received an order yesterday from a well known, excellent vendor to try and took and drag and was like  I was smoking a tobacco flavor for the past couple days. So, I guess, I didn't notice the lack of taste so much.

I tried a favorite e-juice and just faint taste, I was so bummed. I kept doing searching for the right vendor with strong flavors on forum yesterday, lol. I do have e-liquid from 3 different vendors and still nothing great with taste. Mostly like drags of just air or very faint flavor.

I wonder if it's just a stage with quitting smoking ??
I started vaping 4 weeks ago, one day and almost 4 hours ;) and haven't touched an analog since. This is a miracle for this 30 year heavy smoker....never could stop for even a day. So hopeful to taste flavors again soon!:vapor:

I'm in my 3rd week a vaping. My insurance will got up $30 a month for tobacco users next year, and e-cigs are clearly listed in the policy as a non-tobacco product, so it was a no brainier. My first day with my Volt e-cig kit (after two weeks with cheap 21-Century cigs) was great, but then this taste issue kicked in. I figured out that switching flavors helped, but I also suspect that I have pulverized my taste buds. I was only a 5-6 cig a week smoker, and I may be over a pack-a-day analog-equivalent now.

Thank for all the info, I'm glad it's not just me.

OH NO! Just woke up and now mine doesn't have much flavor. Oh, stuffy nose.......Blew nose, not much help. Just mixed up some new juice, maybe too weak (hope so, I was really liking this flavor, maybe have to up the rum in the butter rum, or maybe too much rum?? ;)). That or I woke up before my taste buds. Will know more after I wake up completely and have my morning coffee. If not I may have to reread this whole thread or save more money and go with flavorless (anything but that, I was just about to get some real flavors).

I've found when the flavor started to diminish, that's when I started direct dripping.
Back in 2008 we didn't have LR Atty's and drip tips, so much easier now, and w/ the LR Atty's even better taste!

Rotate flavors with high contrast difference also. I hit up Brandon at Ms T's the other day for some new flavor recommendations. The source always knows what's popular? He recommended trying their new Watermelon, and blueberry pancakes.. I'm going to get them in my next order..

Congrats! The last time I smoked an analog, it tasted bad.. it just didn't have the sweet feel of my Ego-T hehe.. so that helped me psychologically.. i'm still keeping a couple of packs stashed just in case i run out of all my liquids in the future, which i hope will never happen! I've been hearing about this ry4 thing a lot, what is it? A tobacco flavor?

Wow, how do you feel now Balth? Can you taste again? You know, I've been thinking about getting a flavorless e-juice, cos I grew to love the taste of the regular Xhale O2 catridges which don't seem to have any kind of flavor but only a slight nutty aftertaste. I love it so much and I'm looking for an e-juice similar to it. I just can't put my finger on it. And I definitely don't wanna buy any more Xhale catridges, cos they're pretty expensive ($15 for 10 small carts) and they're made in China. (probably containing some nasty chemicals.. maybe that's what gives it the flavor that I like!)

I am sure this has mentioned, but you need to change flavors more often. If you use the same flavor for a while, your body doesn't register the taste. Just like those cigarettes, after a while you don't notice the really nasty flavor any more. Have a smoke after a few days of vaping and you can taste it again, and it sucks. :) So keep changing up the flavors.

That's exactly what I did. Last night, I smoked an analog for the first time in 5 days. It tasted pretty bad. And I was coughing all night! Back to vaping. They at least taste cleaner. I haven't tried the pickle trick yet, will do that today.

Yeah, Balth, I want to know too, are you tasting 'em again?

Lemon clears the taste palate really nice.
There is a reason, the 5 star places serve a small lemon sorbet dish in between courses at some restaurants.

Most citrus fruits will work actually. The citric acid dissolves oils that can linger on the tongue, cleansing the palate and readying you for the next bite. :) (This works for hot chilis, too, though most people drink milk to coat the tongue or eat bread to try and absorb the capsicum oil.)
