here
First I had leaking issues. Fixed by filling tanks to only 80%, turning tank 2 times when putting tank on, and taking tank off half way threw and taking several toots without tank. Not sure which or if all these fixed the leaking issues, but I am over that issue as of now.

Now to the attys. I am new and still tasting tons of vapes. I notice that if I vape menthol, that my sweet flavors just don't taste right if I use the same atty, even after vaping an entire tank. Seems the menthol really fouls up my atty. Is this possible?

I have tried to clean the atty by removing the spike but 90% of the time I loose the wick. I have now started to take them apart and clean after 3-5 days and it seems to come apart with out loosing the wick. Also I am not sure if I cam putting the spike back in the proper position because as I pry off the spike I slide tweezers under neath to hols the wick in the spike. Any cluse how I should be re-assembling the atty?

Seems crazy that I sit here performing maintenance on a 5$ atty when I spent more then that a day on smokes. But, the $$'s I have invested in attys, batterys, e-cigs, e-juice, spare tanks.....its starting to cost and the cleaning does save a few dollars to be used for the elusive all day juice I am looking for.

I guess this was more of a vent, but am looking for some pointers.

Thanks/

ONE LAST THING. I notice that my attys that I got from ovale do not have the mesh on the top of the wick. You can look at the spike and see the white fibers poking threw. The metal mesh seems to be on the sides. Seems to me that the wick on my ego-t's had the mesh on top of the wick. Does this seem right??

I might be one of few, but I've never had any leaking problems with my "T" or "C". I use 90% Dekang PG and 10% PGA. Works great.
I fill my tanks with a syringe and fill it all the way up to where the ring for the cap is. I'm guessing it's about 95% full. I can also vape the tank dry, though I try not to do this unless I'm going to wash the tank.

Yep, menthol will definitely lock that atty into a menthol only one. Don't even try to clean it out, it'll never happen. Menthol is the only flavor I know of that will do that, so, set that one aside for menthol only.

I pull the wick out of the spike about 50% of the time when I remove the spike from a new head, but from then on it stays in the spike without any problems. When the wick pulls out of the spike I use a pair of tweezers with a very sharp point to very gently push it back in. So far all my "C" and "T" heads have the mesh on top, so putting it back is easy.
As for how to put the wick back in, see this video (this is for the "T", but the same applies for the "C"): eGo-t wick adjustment

I consider this as much as a hobby as a way to get off analogs. Just like my model airplane hobby there is some routine maintenance involved to keep everything in tip-top shape. I like to tinker with stuff and I feel like I'm not enjoying it if everything worked perfectly.

I don't think the mesh is all that important. It just makes it easier to insert it into the spike, but does not seem to affect the wicking capabilities. Actually to me it seems it would wick better without the mesh.

Good luck and just enjoy it. You're doing fine. Just look at it as one of life's little bumps in the road.
