Hi all, Hope that this hasn't been asked before. I have read most of the posts and didn't see one with exactly the same problem.

Anyway, here goes........

Have a penstyle from njoy, also bought 2 spare batteries and 2 atomizers from Puresmoker, so I have total of 3 of each part.

My problem is the amount of vapor, or lack of vapor to be more exact.

Tried changing out the different parts and I get the same results....even put more juice into the carts.

If I just leave the ecig for an hour or so, when I first pick it up, it works pretty well, quite a lot of vapor, but by the third drag, I hardly get anything. I tried doing a primer puff like has been suggested, but that only helps a little.

Let the cig rest for another hour or so and the same thing happens. It's frustrating as I usually want to smoke (vape) for longer than a minute and no matter how hard you suck or puff, you get little to no vapor or taste at all.

Is it just something common with the penstyle or am I having a problem with my atomizers?

At this rate, I'd need a whole buch of cigs, taking 2 drags from each and then letting them rest for an hour.

So, is it a parts problem or user error?

we find the only way they work properly is to direct drip them.. two drops into the atomizer smoke it then two more drops.. the carts just dont seem to deliver enough liquid to the atomizer when used on their own..

your delay is simply letting the liquid move from the cart wool to the atomizer wire wool.. the direct dripping gets around this but is pain to have to keep doing..

smaller mini type carts/cigs move the liquid better but have other downsides..

ps.. an ideal e cig would be a 901 atomizer stuck on the end of the larger pen style battery.. but sadly it cant be done..

I have a useless little e-cig I hate and look forward to destroying when I replace it.

If you take three or four puffs consecutively (half a second in between), each for slightly less duration than the cut-off you can get a fair bit even out of my thing. Then it needs to get put back in the charger.

Don't blame me if you're smoking more cartridge than juice, but you can get some kind of vapour / cartridge smoke out of it. :)

your battery is dead dude.. the downside of the mini "thing".. its how they die.. simply lose their run times.. its going flat after those few puffs..

I recently purchased a penstyle from Njoy and I have had no problems with refilling the cartridges and getting plenty of vapor, I do however tend to keep it mouthpiece up in my pocket or when Im vaping at home I set it up so the mouthpiece is up so its constantly dripping down into the atomizer. Im not sure why I started doing this from the get go but it just made sense to me and it works great. I do leave it laying around not sitting up plenty though and it always works great . . . maybe I just got lucky and got a good atomizer??

I have penstyles, from Puresmoker and the Janty Classic. With both, I get pretty good vapor, and it does not go down within a minute of starting, even while using cartridges (pre-filled, or filled by me). What I noticed is that some flavors produce more vapor than others after the first few puffs - what flavor do you have? Try charging each battery for 8 hours, and see whether things improve. Does this happen with all three of your atomizers?

Hi Ro-Ro,

Be careful with keeping the penstyle upright too much (with the mouthpiece up), as the atomizer gets a bit 'older', there is a risk of either liquid dripping out where the atomizer and battery are connected (especially in warm conditions, makes a mess 8-o !!), or the atomizer getting too wet, which will kill the vapour production bigtime.

If the former happens, be sure to clean the battery well and try to remove any liquid that may have seeped into the battery (not good for the battery at all !) by rolling up a thin piece of tissue, inserting it into the hole in the battery and twisting carefully. If liquid did seep into it, it will come out wet('ish). Repeat until it comes out dry.

If the latter happens, remove the battery, roll up a piece of paper towel (preferably not tissue as this has a lot more fibers it may leave behind on the atomizer bridge) and insert into the atomizer at the mouthpiece end till it touches the bridge inside the atomizer (DO NOT TWIST as this can leave paper fibers on the bridge !!). Now blow on the battery end. This will blow residual liquid into the paper where it will be absorbed. Dry smoke (without cart, just the mouthpiece) for a while before putting in a new cart or dripping fresh liquid.

I've found from experience that E-smoking requires a very delicate balance between the atomizer being too dry and too wet, both not desirable as too dry can burn out the atomizer and too wet will kill the vapour production.

Cheers,
Silver

Yep, have tried different combinations of batteries and atomizers and different juices as well.

It would appear that the juice is not being "wicked" up to the atomizer enough, even though there is juice in the cart, there is little to none being transferred to the atomizer coil. There is like a "dry" spot between the lower wet part of the cart and the atomizer coil, only after waiting a while does the liquid wick to the top of the cart?

If that is the case, is there an easy solution rather than topping off every minute or two? I know someone said that is why they drip rather than using carts, but I would prefer using carts if possible.

I would guess that if you drip, then it would not be a good idea to try and smoke while lying on your back huh?

Buy a 901 and trash my pen? decisions, decisions, decisions.........

I've had that happen to me a few times. It's always been a bad cartridge. The fibers at the top sometimes get matted together too tight to allow the liquid to pass normally. You can use tweezers and pick the fibers apart, or take a pin and stick it though the matted layer several times. Are all your cartridges from the same source?

Leaford, no, I have some cartridges from Njoy and some from Janty.

But, I have an idea on a new type of "cartridge"...maybe the manufacturers have tried the idea, I don't know.

What if we were to take a vial/ampule or whatever you want to call it, filled with 2 or 3 ml or juice and it had a sponge like top that would remain saturated at all times? Of course it would have to be thick enough to keep the liquid from "flowing" out, but porous enough to allow the juice to flow easily.

I guess you could think of it like an ink cartridge in an inkjet printer.

The only thing I'm not sure of is if air could get inside easily enough since wicking out the liquid would produce a vacuum in the bottle. I would think that since the cig is normally used in a horizontal position, the top portion of the sponge would have less saturation due to gravity and allow air to be sucked into the container.

If you get the picture, it's a small bottle with a sponge on the top basically.

If you don't think that would work, how about a pump style? When ever you needed more juice, just push a button and a drop of juice drips onto the atomizer!:thumb:

New here just testing to see if this will post, I am new to the e-cig and from the US Just found this site over the weekend while searching for more about these cigs. My wife purchased me one last week, I haven't seen it mentioned on here it is called LUCI

I just recently saw a store for Luci cigarettes at one of my local shopping malls in Tennessee (you wouldn't happen to live in "K-town" would you?). I was thinking about getting some for a few of my family members. I haven't been able to find a single mention of them online except for their own website, which I might add, looked very nice. They definately seem more stylish than many of the others I've found online (I'm assuming my family members would want ones that DON'T look like cigarettes, so they don't have as much trouble smoking indoors with them).
