So like many, I really came to like the Kayfun type atomizers and now use The Russian (Full version). I've been struggling to build a coil that is both very low resistance and large enough to expose a good deal of juice to heat and air to produce a bigger, more flavorful cloud.
What I found was that with 28 ga Kanthal, you can go low res with a very tiny coil, but the coil is so small that the juice vaporizes faster than your wicking medium can re-saturate. or you can use fewer wraps and a larger inside diameter but you expose less juice and air to the coil giving you kind of a lack luster vape experience.
My solution isn't original by any means. I know people have been twisting wire to solve these problems for a long time. I just wanted to share with everyone that may be having these issues finding just the right balance of coil diameter versus resistance that I can indeed attest to the virtues of twisting two 28 ga wires to essentially achieve a low res. coil that is larger in diameter with just as many wraps as I would have used with a single wire, thus allowing more wick, juice and air to be exposed to the coil's surface area, and also more coils surface area altogether.
I'me getting a significantly larger cloud. and a tremendous flavor boost, even more flavor than you'll already get out of these type of atomizers. I'm sure I'm not the first to do this, but if you're having the same issues I was, I hope this helps.
