I may be mistaken, but so far it seems to me that the vape is smoother and less harsh when my clearomizer is full vs let's say half full. I use MT3S (it's bottom coil). I understand about the gurgling issues when you get down to about half of tank, why it happens and how to deal with that... I'm talking about the smoothness of the vape. Is it just in my mind?

I tend to think it's an efficiency issue with the wicking. Silica to me, more and more is just not very efficient - it's great at not burning, but it's not as capillary as cotton or other materials, which is why I think my gear is better with cotton wicking.

It's not in your mind, it's physics.

When you take a drag on your bottom coil tank, you create a vacuum in the center tube (A very small vacuum, but a vacuum nonetheless). That vacuum in turn pulls liquid in from the tank via the wick to the coil.

You also have the liquid in the tank that's pushing down to the bottom of the tank (like a stack of bricks). As the amount of liquid in the tank drops, there's less pressure on the bottom of the tank (less bricks) and since you're applying the same amount of vacuum with the pull, the end result is that a slightly smaller amount of liquid enters the coil area per pull.

Physics is Phun!

That makes total sense! Any advice on what I can do to compensate? Typically, I activate the bat, wait a bout a second and then take a slow 4-6 second drag while keeping the battary activated. When at about half tank, I still get a about the same amount of vape, it tastes about the same but it burns the throat just a little bit. I've tried reducing the voltage, but that didn't seem to help.

Well, if reducing the voltage doesn't help, outside of topping the tank of, you could try taking a few primer pulls (puffing on the tank without hitting the fire button) to get a little more juice on the coil.

If you have vaped it down to half a tank, then the composition of the remaining liquid is different. Some of the first half has caramelized...that is why some juices darken as you vape down the tank. In some of my tanks, I actually like it better after it gets a little darker and somewhat sweeter.

Another possibility, since PG wicks easier that VG, the last half might have a different ratio than the first half...this would probably be more relevant in a top coil.
