Thanks for the story...I'm 3 weeks into vaping and looking for a similar success story for myself

When I was at three weeks, I was really enjoying my newfound superhuman senses of smell and taste. Except for when my wife came in the house after having a cigarette, because then I'd be like "Holy crap, did I used to smell like that all the time?"

Fortunately I'm the lone smoker in the house so my battles are fought at work lol

When we told our Dr. about the ecigs we had gotten for Christmas, and the fact that both my wife and I were down to just a few analogs a day, he was so happy I thought he was going to flip. i explained the ecig and how it worked, the fact that yes we were still getting some nicotine, I figured the bomb was going to drop then. Instead he says "hell I don't give a damn about the nicotine" that's the least of the problems with smoking. A little nicotine if far less dangerous than all the .... you get in a cigarette. We talked about them for a while and he also commented that we had both lost weight, and that normally when someone tries to quit smoking they put on weight. I went on to explain that we were using a national program, we just didn't sign up or pay their monthly fees. I got all the info off the internet to be ablte to follow the eating plan. He was so happy when we left I thought he'd start singing. We go every 3 months (due to advanced age, combination of my two heart attacks, and my wifes back injury) When he sees us next month he'll faint. I've lost almost 30 lbs, my wife 12lbs, and we both have completely quit. He didn't know much about E cigs, i'm taking my MOD and got a couple of tip covers at the vape shop in town that I'm going to take and see if he wants to try a vape. I'll put something good and sweet in just to see what he thinks of our new dessert.

Great story all the way around, Nate!! Thanks for sharing! It's great to hear positive reports like yours!

I saw my dr. last month and she was happy to hear I'd quit smoking and was also interested in hearing more about ecigs. She knew someone who just couldn't quite let go of the last few cigs and wondered if an ecig would work.

[Brief background: smoked for 25 years, started vaping about eight months ago, longtime lurker, first-time poster.]

......

Shortly before we hung up, he sighed and said "I really have no excuse for not having known all this. If I had, especially now that I've seen firsthand how much your health has improved in less than a year, I would've been recommending these things to my smoking patients who have tried and failed to quit with the gums and patches and whatnot."

....

Great job Nate!

I hope to see longitudinal studies done on vaping to see the real effects (good or bad) fingers crossed for good news!

The studies are out there, they just never get publicized because their conclusions don't fit the preferred narrative being promulgated by the moralist nanny-staters who want to ban e-cigs for no good reason and/or tax them completely out of existence.
