No wonder I was compelled to lick my griddle last time I tried to quit.

Most of the people who have bothered to talk to me haven't said anything terribly rude. Generally, they're just interested in how it works and whether it is helpful for quitting. It's the fake cough that kills me. It would be one thing if I was sitting right next to them blowing it in their direction, but when it happens, I'm generally standing outside ~10ft from them. It's always that exaggerated gagging cough while they glare at me. Considering I rarely blow large clouds, there is about no chance that any of my vapor even made it to them.

It sends me into a fit. I didn't even get this much fake coughing when I smoking a cigarette!

I'd throw my MVP at them to see if that made them cough more, but I like my MVP too much.

So.......after 17 months of Not Smoking and everyone that knows me is aware I switched to vaping.........

3 Times today I heard the exact same line from 3 Different People.

PERFECT DAY TO QUIT SMOKING!

Ignored the first 2, but by the third time I was tired and had heard it enough.
I Spun around and blasted out, I QUIT SMOKING !& MONTHS AGO!!
The numb nut even knows me and knows that and responds with, Oh thats right you did.

Couldn't stop myself. I said I WOULD USE THIS in inside(showing my Nemesis with Ithaka on Top) to enjoy my Cappuccino but some people have NO clue!
My co-worker exited double timing it away.

No.....but I am the Son of a Sailor Man.

Raised around Navy but blew out my knee in High School and ended any chance of Service. Got refused 3 times and gave up.

Now I'm just a Grumpy old man trying to enjoy whatever time is mine.

My co-worker smokes and he just loves it when he comes in to work and shows me an article he read about a battery blowing up at someone's home or causing a fire, or causing some body harm. He just loves it, I swear !

i have heard all of these and still get the fake coughs & waving the imaginary smoke/smell away. People also drag their children away from me which isn't a bad thing. Children have germs and i don't want to get sick--that's why i carry a personal vaporizer rather than try to get children banned from public places. My health is my responsibility--not the government nor my employer.

You know those things have antifreeze in them AND they are killing people by blowing their faces off? I saw it on TV....

I just pointed out that the chemistry in his oversized aftermarket battery for the Samsung in his pocket beside his pack of smokes was actually more dangerous than the battery in my mech. I then told him that he should google the ingredients for antifreeze that he is exposed to everyday as opposed to PG and to google cell phone battery explosions while he was at it before he made another fool of him self.

I have heard "that can't be as good as just quitting" "that stuff smells, it is making me hungry so go somewhere else" and the last one really made me smile.

"You know all that water vapor you are inhaling pools in your lungs and causes pneumonia?" As he was smoking his cigarette, he apparently saw that on TV.

Given work has specifically banned e-cigs in our office (e.g. one of many offices in the building).... Going out to the smoking alley and having smokers ask me "why the heck are you out here?".

I get one comment consistently ...

It's not like you've really quit smoking ... you're still using that with the nicotine.

To the smokers ... they have no idea how awesome it feels to quit smoking (smell, taste ... and the breathing part).

To the non-smokers ... they may just never understand, as they don't smoke and don't want to learn about vaping.

I like the anti-freeze questions. When I first started vaping, my mom saw something on tv about it. "I just saw something on the news, those things have anti-freeze in it!!" No, they don't have anti-freeze in them. There is PG, which *is* a component in anti-freeze, but it's also used in inhalers, and as a suspension in some injectable medicines. "Oh, ok. Well, as long as you don't smoke...."

It's not a myth that PG is in anti-freeze, it really is in it, so I can see how the anti's focus on that to try to quell ecig sales. We just need to educate people, time and time, and time again about the truth!

My dad said the same thing to me once. He saw something on the news about e cigs containing antifreeze. I explained it to him basically the same way.

but really, I was at an outdoor event this last summer standing off by myself vaping on my vamo with a protank when a police officer walked up and told me that some people were concerned about me using a "mini m@th lab" in public. He was laughing about it and said he tried to explain to them what it was I was using but they were adamant that he arrest me immediately. I ended up setting him up with an inexpensive ego/vivi nova kit and 10ml of ry4 and then went back with him to show them what it was. They ended up interested in it and wanted me to talk to their adult children who smoked about it.

and of course I do get the antifreeze, blow up in your face, child addicting comments on a regular basis (but I have switched more people than have gotten these types of comments)

Jim - That's amazing. I have a few friends that smoke and they always ask for drags off my ecig, they're always blown away by how decent-tasting all my nicquids are, but they continue to smoke.


EDIT:

Today while I was driving in my car, I got pulled over by a cop who thought I was clam-baking my car because I took 3-4 drags of my provari and then rolled down the window, LOL.
