After reading the “Fine Art of Squonking” thread in this REO forum, the general consensus seems to be the less liquid in the bottle; the harder it is to squonk. Would a 10, 12 or 15 ml bottle be unwarranted in a REO?

I suspect the increased air volume in the bottle is the cause and the squonk pressure increases because the air has to first compress to exert enough pressure on the liquid to force it up the tube. The more air in the bottle, the more pressure is required.

How much air can be easily compressed in a larger bottle without excessive finger pressure? How much liquid is comfortably usable in that bottle? Is an almost empty 6 ml bottle on the edge of uncomfortable squonking and any larger bottle will get uncomfortable with 6 or more ml of liquid used?

I don’t suffer from arthritis YET, but I do talk to some that do and my heart goes out to those that have limited movement due to arthritic pain.

Great topic!

I keep multiple REO's running and alternate. The combination of 3ml and 6ml bottles is perfect for me. I don't think a bigger bottle would work as well. Right now with 10 in front of me I find I only top off once a week at the most. I like the bottles full so just a little squonk is enough.

I do notice the half empty bottle. It does require more pressure.

I often squonk and vape until the bottles are entirely empty. It does take more pressure as the volume gets less and less, but not to the point of being excessive.

Excessive is a relative term to various people.

Variable 1) No arthritis
Variable 2) Beginning arthritis
Variable 3) Mid-stage arthritis
Variable 4) Long-onset arthritis

Is it possible to get a bottle made to spec? If you did that, you could give it a square footprint and use up even more of the empty space on the bottle side of the box. Just think! 13.5ml VVG!

Yeah, but if it was square, Rob would have to devise a way so that when the bottle was screwed in tight, it would always be square to the mod, and not have a corner sticking out in the way of the door. I think a round bottle would be much more practical. Good thought though :)

The cap spins on the tube, you know :)

I didn't really think about that. I guess you could screw the bottle in normally and then just a short twist on the tube for positioning. Even doing that though you'd have to be watchful to make sure the tube is staying at the correct depth in the bottle.

I would guess a square bottle would be more difficult to squonk because the square corners will make it more rigid. Just a guess.
