theECB, you need the spike for the the t-tanks to work, the spike has to enter the silicone bottom of them. Not using the teflon spacer allows for a larger wick though. Cutting off the spike wouldn't make the opening larger, but drilling would.
Whoot, look what arrived today. Thanks Dan. But I do need some help, threads aren't right, please read further.

Now about the help.
The small tank cover fits fine. But the large tank cover's threads aren't 'threads'. They're a pretty pattern of what should be threads but it's useless to attempt forcing it on.
Dan, can you offer any help to correct it?
Here's the best pic I could get of the large tank cover's threads.

And the small tank cover for comparison.

I won't start assembly of anything 'till I hear back from you. Thanks.
Do you know the size or part number?
also the wave washers work real good, you might want to use a oring on the bottem of the cover but that looks fine on the gtus. kind of breaks up the ss look, makes it look better i think
i have heard about using 35x35 for the wick, i was one of the early del and on mine there is no way to use a wick that big, i have been trying to for at least 3 months, solid wicks, 22 gage needles, and paper clips of all sizes, by the way the spacer in the top went the 1st night. i would like to know why i cannt make a bigger wick work
that is correct, quig
dan, can't believe what an amazing job you did. the gtank is so simple to assemble, all stainless including the 510 connector, all pieces fit together so well, just amazing dan!!
thank you for all your hard work, a masterpiece to say the least.
I am happy to have the PTFE spacers.Without the PTFE spacers and using the pin technique I found 35mm x 35mm about perfect. On the preassembled ones, I will not be installing the PTFE spacers, but will include them if you want to use them.
