3/16" ??? That is a very large hole for a wick.

There was no way a 35x35 was going through anything smaller. I've worn off my fingertips rolling several wicks with no center hole with those dimensions. I think there must be an irregularity in the machining, if some people are getting it to go through. The 3/32" widened out the hole perfectly.

I am tinkering and have put dripper top on and...(no middle nipple thingy piece on) a dt, the wick is just inside the dt...finally better vapor and a little flavor...the nasty burnt taste is going away..so maybe when the wick kicks in the flavor will shine thru..my coils are going good...I don't mind dripping as I always have a dripper going anyway...so if I can only drip on this...then so be it..money well spent imo..:D....but I will continue to tinker with it...but for now, enjoying the vape..:vapor:.....

now, where did I put those t tanks...............................

35mm is not set in stone as you have to use that much. If you can't get it in use less. I never measure mine. I start rolling a longer piece and eyeball it to the hole. Once it looks about the correct diameter I cut it and fold over the end. Using 325 mesh there is no way I can get it to roll without a center hole so I end up using way way less than 35mm.

The 35mm is just a guideline to get you started.

Got a question: My 5ml cap won't thread on. The threads feel a little rough. How does one go about smoothing them out?

If it's just rough but can still be screwed on, it's likely just small burrs left in the threads and you should be able to just work it on and off several times to smooth it out. If it won't thread on at all, shoot Dan a message, he said he'd take care of these type of issues :)

It won't thread on at all. Everything else is smooth as silk.

Yea, PM Dan. One of my 5ml caps, the threads were so 'not threads' I couldn't even start it to screw it on. After PM'ing w/ Dan I sent it back with a return postage-paid mailer and he had me fixed up right quick.

Just curious, anybody rocking their GTUS with a kick involved? I just traded for one and I'm curious if there are any issues concerning how the kick works with a rebuildable. I wouldn't think it would matter, but figured I'd ask just in case. Thanks all!

Running mine with a Kick. Works like a champ and it's so nice not having to really worry about coil resistance.

just for kicks I unscrewed the middle with the tank on, set it down on the table and left it, came back...it did not leak through the wick hole even thought full of jucie and no wick plugging it!....????????

SO FAR.
I have reamed ALL holes. tried a wick that had to be crammed through the hole, a wick that fell through the hole. have tried with ptfe in and out of the mid section. have even tried adding a roll of wick to the coil area to increase wick density at the the HEAT. using rawr 70/30 with a bit of extra pg. From previous attempt had primer pg on wick, vaped until I got a dry hit, yuck! used blow/suck method..2 drags...ARRGGHHH, that burns bad. I have it setup for 5ml tank...long wick, I removed top. Have clear tank on it. unscrewed the top section and lifted until I could see coil, 3/4 inch of wick still in tank, Fired....GLOW, slide tank up and down, fired....GLOW. 2.4ohms tried @ 3.3-3.8v.....GLOW. current wick slides easily, Juice should running down the wick. NO GO..... Watered down the juice to 50/50

It is now 6:46am EST, I have been f'ing with this for 6 hours, with a little break for snack and bathroom. I redid again, with solid dense tight 400mesh wick. At this point I say F__K it, they are going one the classy's...... The ONLY THING that I have not tried is cutting the piercer off.

I current;y have LINE V2, 2x Defcons(poor mans line) and a scubagen, I should be able to do this, no problem.

WHOOAA there partner. See if this helps.

For everyone else: during all of my ridiculous Canon powershot camera cam strapped to my hat takes I forgot to mention that I am using 36 gauge nichrome.

Bravo Perlion!...so you don't even bother wrapping a mesh skin around the wick that goes into the tank? (obviously it's not needed)...that makes things tons easier...I put ceramic wick into my first GTUS way back but because "cooked off" ceramic is sooo fragile it took forever to do, not to mention ceramic doesn't last anywhere near as long as cotton.

I think it's awesome that everyone should be able to enjoy their GTUS's now, again, well done!

Thank You

I have had 0 leakage thru the hole. The cotton will expand and seal the hole. Also condensation is less and vapor is strong. A cotton ball is stronger than you may think when wet. It will not fall apart.

I cannot take full credit for this. There is a cotton wick thread and ScubaDan was doing this eon's ago except with silica. There may be others who have done this also, so let's call this a community effort.
