Hey Dan, you wouldn't happen to remember what type of stainless these are would ya?

303 Stainless steel is what I was told by the folks at EMS.

the longer one, I tore my hand up good too with the screwdriver too. Which summoned vulgarities of excessive volume expelling from my mouth.

Sorry to here that, killjoy1 is correct, the longer is 1/2" and the sorter is 1/8" 0-80 Stainless steel screws. Got the at McMaster.com

If you stripped the stainless screw, then it's possible you also stripped the nylon screw that it threads into. If that's the case, then to get a replacement it's a nylon 6-32 by 1/4".

Here are the McMaster part numbers for everything, though chances are you can get all of these elsewhere without having to pay their shipping costs:
Spacer SS 3/16" - McMaster - 92321A007
Spacer Nylon 2 - McMaster - 94639A706
Washer Nylon x 2 - McMaster - 90295A120
SS Screw 0-80 1/8" - McMaster - 91772A052
SS Screw 0-80 1/2" - McMaster - 91772A059
Nylon Screw 6-32 1/4" - McMaster - 93135A144
Spacer PTFE x 2 - McMaster - 5239K241

Totally forgot I'd saved that text :)

dood iam loving cotton wick with mesh!

2days of heavy vaping, mesh wicks the cotton really well

easy to change, change flavors etc
cotton iam using is my wifes "cotton roll'?? its like a roll of duct tape but cotton... lol a roll of flat cotton... tape, guess its used for painting finger nails? or some other beauty thing, as she says if you dont have a cosmo license... you can likely find it at SALLYs beauty supply...

stuff works great!!! omg ,like a hybrids-hybrid? dont have to thread the cotton through the top cap mesh stays put makes any quick cleaning simple, and keeps the cotton wet for my chain vaping,

ive found a small amount works great, around a coil that was previously around mesh, i actually clipped more cotton off the top as it didnt need that much up top

i dunno but iam liking this setup ALOT, just dont "pre burn" the cotton and its golden

trying to understand your pics Luke!

so you have a mesh wick in the hole area going into the tank and into the vapor chamber, and a separate cotton wick at the coil, they're not actually connected and its still wicking good? Impressing! What are the specs on your mesh wick? 35 mm wide/material?

Just FYI, I picked up some 0-80 1/2" SS screws at Ace Hardware for about 25 cents each a few days ago. They didn't carry anything that small until recently, so maybe they have decided to stock machine screws in more of their stores. It saved me from having to buy 100 of them from McMaster, plus shipping. They did not have the the 0-80 1/8" screws, but I don't need any of those at the moment anyway. Actually, I didn't need the 1/2" either, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to have a few extras around.

303 Stainless steel is what I was told by the folks at EMS.

I tried some cotton gauze last night on an SGV3, just wrapped some around the mesh wick and then the coil around that. It worked pretty good functionally but I could taste the cotton. I will get some cheese cloth or cotton yarn and give that a go but my first try I wasn't excited about the cotton flavor undertone to my vape.

Gauze and cheese cloth are about the same...the cotton taste goes away pretty fast.

maybe i will give it another go and just push through the taste for a little while. I would love it if the taste comes back as it would solve my shorting issues and bring all of my GTUS' online. I only have one working well right now but I still have to fix the long coil tail issue.

Stick a mesh/cotton hybrid wick into your GTUS...been running mine with one since Saturday night...awesome taste and no shorting issues...

YES sir! its was a failed SS wick nothing fancy, you can screw on the cap without the SS in there and then insert SS through the top, if u wanna, i just let the cottoncoil push up the SS as i thread down the cap

iam loving it, 4-5 days now... its made me fall allover in love with my GTUS, ive had the same coil for 2 weeks now prolly... ive learned the DONT MESS with it rule, as i wanted to change the cotton as i wanted a differant flavor... NOPE! if it works then it aint broke, DONT FIX IT lollol , needless ta say i had ta wait till i got home ta fix up a good wick as my stash bag doesnt have scissors

theres also like one little drop of liquid left in the tank when i its runs dry, and the cotton lets you know with out a doubt its run dry, as your flavor of you vape just goes away an leaves you asking, "am i empty?" YEP! u definitively are

love love love it, cotton is where its at, and dont have ta waste my SSmesh as you've incorporated it in the hybrids hybrid

i already have ideas on doing this to the ScubaminiV3 (300)

i like ta try quidwirths method of wick wrapping but i dont have the threaded cotton, i do have bamboo thread though! maybe try that one (thanks for the new video quidswirth!) i like the way he has done it, not too much like mine, but his is one piece, as mine is kinda a 2 piece, not big differences but they are there, i thought his video was gonna be like my pics but he has blown me away with that method, mad props!

i like not changing the coil, i change only the cotton, i hate trying to get a good working coil ta work properly :2c:
