You mean that little "beauty cone/plinth" thing? Those were pretty much a bust 'cos they weren't manufactured correctly, IIRC (hard to say if I remember right, it was quite a while back, now). I've been using mine as a stand when I need to set down a tank that's prone to leak if laid on its side, works well enough for that purpose

I am using mine as a stand as well for my 2 Phoenix clones and a Bulli clone and the GTUS as well...needs to be about a 16th less height and they would work!

I remember something vaguely about the threads not being cut deep enough to thread on all the way. I don't have anything eGo-style to thread it onto other than a couple of adapters, anyway. I'll tell ya what, I'll take some measurements to see how much stock would need to come off of my plinth for the GTUS to make contact when threaded on, then bring it into work and turn or grind it down. If it works and you want it to use, it's yours :) I'll let ya know how the experiment turns out

Haha, didn't ever think to use that ego thing as a stand!! Brilliant!!

I went ahead and made another coil as the first one was getting a lil caked up. It still had amazing vapor I figured wth. This time a made a solid 2ohm coil and rock solid.

pulled it apart, notice the thin wall tubing in mid cap:

thin wall ptfe in base:

I wrap my coils on this screwdriver that is the same diameter as my wick:

I slide my cotton wrapped wick into the coil and then mount:

oh, and finally got around to building my ghost tank:

Killjoy,

Just wanted to know your progress on that eGo adapter... I just got a DCT tank and a lot of Resurrector dual punched single 1.7 cartos and they sizzle crazy loud! Also looking to keep the tank from easily being pulled off at the bottom edge. If you don't have time for it now, I will buy an adapter.

Let me know!

Thanks! :)

 Crap, forgot all about it, nothing to do with lack of time. I'm pretty much a zombie in the mornings so it's easy to forget things  I'll stick it in with my vape gear tonight so I don't forget to bring it to work tomorrow. I think your idea of grinding it down a little will work. It won't seat all the way down on the eGo threads, but should still provide some streamlining and support

For a quick trailer park fix, get yourself a stack of washers. And if you really want to go crazy epoxy them together...

I figured out that it does not need to be grinded down, just needs more threads cut into it for that last 1/16th or so. I actually like the shape compared to some other offerings...

Yeah, I have been thinking along the same lines bstedh...

OMG! When I am on the toilet (multi-tasking!) and enjoying a good vape, sounds like I am hitting a pipe of some sort (what with all of the non sound deadening qualities of that place)!

Ended up using the cut tip of a foam piece that goes over a pen so it is cushioned and thicker...will work for the time being!

Works to cut the air flow a bit too, which is great for these cartos since the draw is pretty loose on them when new...

Dang it! I really need to cut down on my nic level!!!

Is this one thing or two, and could you please elaborate on what it is?

Just a simple dollar store foamy-rubberish-tube-shaped padding that is about 1 1/2" long...you slide it over the tip of a pen and you have a pseudo Dr. Grip pen. While the Dr. Grip is soft and gel like... this stuff is foamy looking and cheap... if I jam it all the way up against the tank it cuts off airflow 100%. I just used a tiny slotted screw driver to pull it down enough to allow some airflow, since using my thumb was not working in that tight place. The one I used is at least 5-7 years old and is much stiffer than when it was new...
