I'm really looking forward to getting the ego-t tank top. I think it'll be a lot easier to wield (shorter, lighter) and I hopefully won't have to deal with all the leaking and messing with the tanks. I still love this thing, but it sure takes a some fiddling now and then. I can't wait for everyone else to get them and come up with creative tips and tricks for me, lol. The Ghost tank coop should help with these issues too.

I think there's only 1 real solutin to the stainless steel tank issue . okay maybe 2 1 grind a small relief ring inside the tank so that an oversized o ring can seat properly . to send all the tanks back and have them re made properly . any other solutions are going to be hit and miss do the variation in the specs on each individual tank

The taper on the tank is necessary so that it doesn't cut the o-ring when the tank is pushed on. I agree that the idea of cutting a slight groove in the tank for the o-ring to seat in is the best idea.

However that is likely beyond the ability of most that don't have a lathe. I have been thinking about this and I wonder if shortening the tank slightly, removing part of the taper, would let the o-ring seat into the non tapered part of the tank. It seems the problem some have is that with the tank fully seated the o-ring is still sitting in the taper and so wants to push the tank off.

Three dabs of hot glue still my best solution. I think some kind of ss crown washer with air grooves in it would be a good solution or just an X of ss on top the right thickness to push the tank down. The O ring is a weak link in an other wise sherman tank of a PV. Even the force of it falling over on my desk would cause it to pop off and a mess.

What about roughing the taper with sand paper.... The taper IS NOT necessary. All that was needed a to bevel the very edge on the inside........ The machine shops I deal with will cut new ss tanks for beetween 15-20 $$ .

May work, but I am not convinced the Oring is the best way to hold the tank, it is ok as a seal but like I said this atty is a Sherman tank why have such a weak connection. I knock over and drop things as I am very hands on active. If this tank connection had been screw on with an Oring seal, wow. Something putting pressure from the top makes it drop proof.

Hey guys, its been hard to keep up with all of the tips and tricks being posted. Since we should be receiving them all soon is it possible to get some links to all of the new things we should purchase before we get them? (O-rings sizes, etc.)

A parts list would be awesome for us who do not have the time to read back through 2500 posts but want to fully experiment with the GTUS when it arrives. :)

I've been checking out the Scuba mods for a while, in fact I just recently traded my Imod for a V3...but it seems I keep missing these Co-ops, and it was a real burn because the gtus really grabbed my attention, I've read the posts, seen the youtube vids, understand the issues, I think I'm up to speed...can't wait to get it...and of course mod it, lol
