So do you think part of the key is minimal wick? It seems backwards (not that I’m saying you’re wrong!) as I’ve stopped spitback (back of the throat kind) with my other rdas and even ranks with more wick.

I may have to look into some different tips as the only ones I have now are one from a tsunami 24 which is metal and gets reallly hot, one from the ammit 25 tank and a sub tank mini one. They all make it look like a toilet plunger lol. One of the things I liked about the GR1 was the low profile.

I think tight in the coil and thinned out into the base helped mine out. It’s such a small chamber that I think the coil benefits from being out of the juice pool.

I agree about the drip tip. But I wonder if it’s just too short.

I am out of ideas for ya. I only get spit back on any of mine when I draw unnaturally hard and fast. I set my coils as low as I possibly can, just a couple mm away from the airflow tubes. I can see my coil through my airflow with the top cap on.

I run 28x3/40 fused clapton, 2.5mm id, 5.5 wrap, Ni80, 0.35 ohm @ 45w on my USModz Stinger BF 75c, and the same coil on my mechs.

I have an update too!

Was rooting through everything I have trying to find a suitable drip tip and came across two round wire coils I got when I first started vaping.

3mm, 0.70 ohm, 31W and hardly any juice coming out the top! Not as flavourful but it’s not bad. Thinking of using the more restricted airflow plugs.

In short, I’m happier with it now! Ordered some 24g Ni80 so hopefully I can get a bit more from this one yet!

I’ll definitely give the 2mm coils a go ben85, about the only thing I haven’t tried!

Just an FYI, I have got to the point where I cannot get any spit back now, even if I try to get some. Not sure what the key fix was, but this combo works perfectly.

Glad to hear you sorted it out. I love mine so much that I bought multiple and replaced almost all of my other RDAs with it. I have two loaded up and setting beside me right now, and considering getting a couple of the new ones with translucent colored top caps.

My builds are 2.5 mm, 26 g parallels. One is .4 for a mech and the other is .6 on a regulated. No spitting or juice in the drip tip. Using the smaller air inserts. Also swapped out the default drip tips for a gambit styled tip (fasttech).

A krma tip should work as well - same diameter and bore, just shorter, but I don't think those are sold separately from the atty like the gambit tips are.

I find the gambit to be perfect in terms of airflow restriction and size for just about any atty that doesn't need an 810 tip. You can drip into them easily too. I even use them on my high end attys. Bought a couple dozen in ultem and black delrin.

A slightly longer tip is what will sort this out for me I think!

These ones?

Right, so I just went and bought a £6 Drip tip from a vape shop and all my problems are solved. No juice on the tip and no spitback hitting my throat.
Only problem is it’s not quite tight enough in the cap, but I’ve shoved an extra o ring on there and jammed it in.

Such a rubbish little tip that it comes with. Stupid gas mods.

Thankyou all for your help. Really appreciate it.

I immediately replaced the drip tips on both of mine and that basically took care of the spit back problem for me.
Can you tell me what driptips you’re using on the gr-1? I’m loving mine as far as flavor it’s the best I’ve had but I need a longer driptip because the stock one is impossibly small. All my drip tips are too long where it goes into the rda. The lower part with the o rings. Hopefully you get my drift but anyway does your longer driptip have a shorter insert piece that doesn’t get into the chamber and cause problems? I love the flavor and right now I’m getting by with it on my p80 as a dripper. I only got one squonk mod but if I can get this to work hitting it more frequently I’ll get it it’s own mod, the flavors that good. It works ok like this taking a pull every now and then but if it was the only mod I’m using it wouldn’t work without a longer driptip. I don’t chainvape but I do hit it enough to get uncomfortably hot. Sorry for the rambling, again what driptip are you using? Link or model # please.

Also I’d like to thank @Zaryk for suggesting the gr-1 and the nudge double duece. Which incredibly has shipped. I ordered it July 3rd in the afternoon and it shipped and I got my first tracking update on the 4th of July. So just wanted to give eightvape a shout out because I’ve been reading some bad pub. On them lately and I’ve had nothing but positive experiences with my eightvape orders. Also the nudge 22 was $18.99 without any coupon and that was the cheapest I seen by a long bit. Sorry bout the thread drift just wanted to give credit where due. :offtopic:

Hi Madstabber. I really wish I could give you a model number but it’s just an acrylic/resin? one I picked up at my vape store a while ago. I have also been using one that came with a clone Hadaly. The base of them has no metal, and also end flush just inside the top cap, so they go nowhere near the coil.

If you look on Fasttech for the Hadaly clone you can see close up pics of the kind of tip to look for. I hope this helps...good luck!

Thanks for the info, I’ll take a look. If it comes down to it I can always just sand down the insert part to make it flush with the top cap. I’ll figure something out because the flavor too good not to use. :vapor:

I’ve given up on my GR1. Tried everything I can think of and I still get juice popping out of the tip. Might as well just drink the juice.

It’s a shame because the performance is brilliant.

High coil, tight wicking, short tails, more restrictive air flow and a longer drip tip solved mine.

Here is how I set the coil on both of mine. I have no issues at all with spitting or poping.
