Ive heard of people using gauze pads as there wick and tend to like it more than cotton. I have these sterile gauze pads but it says its a Rayon/Polyester/Cellulose Blend, so what do you guys think?

Polyester is a plastic. I would NEVER suggest or recommend using anything with plastic in it as a wick that will come into contact with a heating coil.
That said, polyester is what's commonly used as the filler in cigalike carts. It can work, but personally I don't like the idea of my wick melting and releasing toxic fumes.
