Leak messy and center ring messy when you pull it apart. My limited clone use has yet to juice all over the place ... though I'm sure it's just a matter of time as I often over squonk.

Drilling them out is easy because there are no angles or special prep cutting needed:
- mark deck height with ultra fine tip sharpie
- tap out the center post
- drill the deck drain hole
- vent the center post so that it meets up with the drain hole
- smooth off the fresh cut edges and tap it back into place

Here's a Derringer clone with the SS center post marked and removed

punch, pin drift/drive ... the set I finally got is the Starrett S565PC Drive Pin Punch Set and they're holding up to my miss'use much better than the $5 set from HF.

I just use a vice to press out the pins prior to modification. A socket over the 510 or my Rose V2 base gives the pin a place to go.I thread a screw into the post so I push an all the threads if I need a little more distance. You could also just put something soft over the post like a small block of brass or aluminum. The vice gives a nice straight even push.

Roscoe, get you several sizes of brass & steel rods and use, you will have an awesum little press. Been doing that for years in other applications, works great for anything not requiring a hydraulic press.

wow lotsa stuff to learn here.1st an introduction.im Rick and been vapin commin up on a year.ive been bitten by the bf bug and have a few reo's and a buncha bf attys. just bought a sculpteo body/2,gdeal mechanical kits.im hoping I haven't overreached with wanting to build these 2 peko's.bought these from bigflyrodder off of the classies lastnight.in such a big hurry I don't even know what the heck version I bought...sheesh impulse and alla that.ive done construction all my life and have done a few motorcycles so im hoping I can get this done,anyways just wanted to say hello and some of you ive seen aound ecfand im sure you've probly seen me also.glad to have found a place I can read up on more vape stuff.take care and see ya around......Rick

I missed a couple a kits a few weeks back so when I saw these I didn't even take time to find out anything about them....lol.bigflyrodder was so kool about it.i had asked him what versions they were and used the impulse buy in a sentence and he offerd to refund my money.bf vapers are some of the best folks on the planet im finding out!!

I had asked him what tap or dies I might need and he was like...hmmm none that I know of its fairly straight forward.i had saw where you all were taping the delrin piece or something and was all ready to go get what tap or die it may need.only one I have now is the 7mm by .05 for the old reo 510 coonection.if I remember the size right.thanks to all ya'll for the warm welcome.ttyl.....Rick

ive got a crapton of taps over at my ma's garage so ill be heading over to do some digging.got a smaller vice and big vice in my workshed.the wife will love me for takin over the gkids play room!!lol.excitedly nervous...lol.like Christmas...lol.this was bought in oct I think BFR said.so whatever that version was is what im getting.
