I just finished updating mine. The wattage lock stays on now, not just until the device goes to sleep. Also, there's a resistance lock now, and the sleep time is 10 minutes rather than 2. I think the update is worthwhile and effective.
i I just recently bought an Aegis mod and I heard that you can do a firmware upgrade. when I checked the geek vape web page there a 3 available firmware.
1. is firmware upgrade necessary?
2. do I need to do an upgrade for each firmware or I can just skip and update it directly to the latest firmware(v1.23a)?

The mod works fine without the update, but with the latest update (1.23), there are minor improvements, such as the verification question of "New Coil?", the wattage lock staying on when powered on and off, and a few functionality issues resolved (Many of which I don't need/ use). I never noticed any improvement of battery life with the update, but I didn't buy the mod for battery life, knowing it's only a single battery.
You only need to select the most recent update to update your mod's firmware.
The mod is amazing, IMO.
