Really? Damnit I just bought a pack of 5 of the damn things. Better go buy some more coils then I guess...

For temperature control you’ll want Stainless Steel, Nickel or Titanium. Don’t think Geekvape sells compatible coils in any of those materials – at least nothing is stated on their website. And not familiar enough with the Aero Tank to say if coils from other vendors are compatible.

You maybe stuck with Kanthal to which you will have to use Wattage mode.

Nah the coils for the Shield tank (which are also compatible with the Aero tank) IM1 and IM 4 are both Stainless Steel. Also both excellent coils by the way and they last ages (mine last 6 weeks plus in my old Aegis using the Shield tank).

My biggest disappointment with this device is that the TCR setting for Titanium is incorrect.
The correct setting is 366 not 420.
This wouldn't be as much of an issue if there was more than one custom TCR slot or the other TCR values were user editable.
On other devices I use a custom TCR of 600 @ 450 degrees F for cleaning TI coils.
This setting heats the coil enough to clean without "glowing" the coil.

Cool :thumb:

Not familiar with the Shield tank either but good to know they share compatible coils. Thx

I've been using nothing but the .2Ω supermesh at 60W since August.

I used SS430 in YiHi TC for over a year prior @ 42W 408F

I do really like these .2Ω coils so when they went on sale....

Wow nice, so how do you have your's set in the Legend Mod? I assume you have to have it in Power mode @ 60 Watts? I've also seen a review where 70 Watts was preffered (which is also in the middle of the coils recommended 60-80 Watt range).

I agree the battery life is kind of startling with the upgrade but I have to say I'd be really surprised if it was accomplished by draining the battery to unsafe levels. I will have to look next time I change them with my fancy new charger which gives me an approximate starting voltage. It sounds to me like an error in the update process or that particular mod, I hope so anyway!

Hey, just signed up to the forum to get a quick answer on this. I just bought the Legend and am about to use the Aero Mesh tank that came with it. I'm just wondering what the correct settings would be for the 0.20 ohm Mesh coil? I prefer to use TC mode and typically set the temperature to about 290 degrees C but as the coil itself appears to be Kanthal which doesn't have a preset (I usually use Stainless Steel coils), I assume I have to set this one to TCR mode so my question really is what number to set this to? I'll be using the midway point in terms of wattage and the coil does say it works best between 60-80 watts so I'll go for 70 there. So yea, I just need to know the best TCR setting for this coil please? Thanks folks
Prior to using the TC made make sure to update firmware. Maybe @BillW50 will weigh in here he seems to have have TC on the Legend down to science these days.

Yea it's brand new so I would expect it to be fully updated but I have checked anyway and it's on 1.1 which I think is the correct version that it should be on.

@BillW50 Not meant to be funny. I figured now that you've updates you could help him get TC going on his Legend.

Yea if there's someone that can help that would be great.

Oddly enough, they rarely update even in later production models. At least it isn't v1.0 which was the first version.

The latest is v1.2, give that one a shot.

I have a suggestion for GeekVape for if they make another Legend style tough mod.

Wrap the fire button in the rubber you use elsewhere on the device. Not only will it make the most sensitive part of this mod more shock absorbent, but will look nicer. My Legend is only 2 1/2 months old and the black paint is wearing off of the fire button. I've never had a fire button lose paint that fast, it's becoming an ugly silver color.
