Goes down the Chimney, around the coil and back up through the chimney. So definitely not like TFV4
So then you could essentially turn off the bottom airflow all together? I ask because I love my 3 Aeolus's with top airflow so this would be a nice upgrade for me.

As if the Griffin rta couldn't get any better, we now will have top airflow. This definitely looks like a response to the Gemini rta. Glad to see GeekVape make this as an add-on, rather than a totally new RTA that needs to be purchased all over again!

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but the Gemini RTA brings air from the top, down to the coils, and then back to your mouth from the coils. So it's not just to cool off vapor, but to increase it, too. Like the top airflow RDAs.

This looks to be the same.

Vaporesso Gemini? See diagram a few posts down.

There are a few top airflow RTAs like you describe. Drawing a blank on the names ATM. Not a good idea for an RTA IMO. There are much better virtually leak free RTA designs.

No, it doesn't really work like Aeolus, where the air comes down to the bottom of the chamber all around the coils. It's added air that goes only down the chimney. The bottom air is what really supplies the coils.

Vaporesso Gemini? No the air comes up from the base on that one. The top air is just like drip tip air.

The top airflow on the Gemini actually does go down to a center post between the coils and comes out 4 holes

. Not just at the drip tip.

That center post is fed by bottom air. The top air goes down the perimeter of the chimney to the top of the chamber only. So you're right there, not just like drip tip air. Whether that would make a decent vape without the bottom I seriously doubt. The best diagram pic I could get that shows the difference between the top and bottom air:

Okay guys, some reviewers say that air travels down from the top; however, I can not see a method/shaft inside the chimney for the air to be directed down that far down. The deck has 4 holes, 2 of which are placed on the center shaft; however, this shaft's top is closed off. I think the 4 holes on the deck is purely for the bottom airflow and there's no visible way for top air flow to travel all the way to the coils. If this is the case, I curse Gemini for making me type this.

Yeah, there's been some confused reviewers. You're right. Check the blue arrows in the diagram to see how the top air comes down.

The chimney is only oh so big and can only allow so much air to pass through. If they could make the chimney wider to install an additional shaft which connects the drip tip's air flow to the deck, why not just make the bottom air flows' holes wider.

For peeps who want more air flow, just get a RDA IMO.

My Griffin arrived today, a day earlier than expected! I got home late, so I won't be able to build it until tomorrow.
I think you'll like it, it really gives you a lot of flexibility for builds. I really like mine, have had no issues, worked great from the get go.

Its my favorite tank so far, very solid performance. I've owned the aromamizer 6ml, the Mt rta, mutank, tfv4 and now the Griffin and by far the Griffin is my favorite out of all of them.

The deck is super easy to build on, you don't have to stuff it full of cotton to keep it from leaking (Mt rta/mutank). Close the airflow and juice flow control and no leaks at all when filling. The top fill holes are huge (Mt rta) I'm sure you could easily fill it with a dropper bottle, I use unicorn bottles a with no trouble. The airflow is great, the included delrin drip tip seems just right bore size and it has the adapter to use your own 510 drip tip if you want. You can access the deck without draining the tank (Mt rta) which is nice.

Overall it's a very good rta and I have absolutely 0 complaints about it. As always I'm sure someone won't agree with something I said above but for me it's hands down the best rta I've used and it's not expensive at all. I paid $40 for it at the local Vape shop, I could of gotten it for $35 shipped online and possibly even cheaper but I'm glad I got it in person and didn't have to wait for it.

I'll be buying another one some time in the near future for sure to have as a back up.

Found this posted on Facebook from Geekvape regarding the "additional top airflow attachment".
"Yes, the air from top airflow ring travel down the "pipe in pipe" chimney to hit the coils, it's not just a drip tip airflow." -Dayong Tang ~ Geekvape
I wonder how it would vape closing off the bottom airflow & just using the top? Going to ask Geekvape on Facebook.

I figured this to be the case.

Wouldn't really make sense to create a whole new top cap and chimney section to basically do what an airflow-adjustable driptip does (even tho I find those to be hideous IMO). In that case, just make an airflow-adjustable driptip and sell that. Lol.

I'm glad it's what I thought it was. I'm excited again.
